 Strange
The hotel is actually large apartments. I had a mini fridge in my first room (#7) and a two microwave. Unexplained water leak by the bathroom door which was never fixed. Check in was difficult. I arrived late (warned them ahead of time). No one around. My taxi driver knocked on doors until we found someone. The room was not clean nor was it made up while I was there.Later in my trip i went back for two nights. Room #12. I like the rustic decor and plants all around. This room was a bit cleaner. Had a four burner gas stove but not one single pot or pan. Plus you'd need matches to light the stove. No microwave.Gotta say, the suites are spacious and the grounds are pretty. Nice small pool with ocean view. Breakfast consists of coffee, orange juice and white bread toast. It just seems to be a ghost establishment. Not much in the way of maintenance going on or attention to detail. Great location if you are going to take the ferry to Isla Mujeres. Two minute walk.

It was my first time in Mexico. The hotel is a little bit outside Cancun, which is very good, if you can really discover local life. The rooms are really amazing. I love it decorations inside the room. The restaurant with view on the sea is amazing! I can't wait to go back!!

Just had our fish served fresh off the wood-fueled BBQ. Guy had to cut wood before cooking meal. Pool on the water next to ferry to Isla. Authentic Mexican hotel that could use a bit of cleanup but well worth the price, especially for those wanting to escape the Cancun hotel zona.

Great rooms and right next to ferry!
Casa Mexicana was an amazing and beautiful hotel! The service is wonderful and the rooms are so beautiful. The cost is so cheap for the large area they give you. There was 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms a big kitchen and a living area. The rooms were so colorful and decorated nicely. It felt like an authentic Mexican home. It had wifi so that was super nice and we had a gorgeous view overlooking the ocean. Sadly we could only stay one night because in the morning we were leaving to go to isla mujeres. But one of the greatest things about this hotel is that the ferry port was next to our hotel. It took about 2 minutes to walk to the ferry port. This was nice because taxis can be super expensive so it's great to just get up and go. And one last thing was the awesome breakfast! The eating area was so pretty and was right next to the ocean. They had free toast and jam and other foods at an additional cost. We had some toast with this SUPER GREAT strawberry jam. We also payed extra and bought some eggs and bacon plus some fresh squeezed orange juice. The eggs were so delicious and had cheese on them. The bacon was super crispy and the orange juice was super sweet and didn't taste watered down. Overall this was an awesome hotel and I would recommend it for anyone who wants a cheap price and a hotel near the ferry. Will definitely stay again if I come back to Cancun!

 great place
The studio was very big and clean, we have a kitchen which was cool to make breakfast.the bed was good, AC was really appreciate.People were really nice and helping, the pool and the garden were really appreciated. Great location next to the ferry terminal to Isla Mujeres, a little bit away from the city center but you can reach it for 50pesos by cab located at 10m from the hotel next to the ferry terminalhighly recommended

 Great place
This is a great place for ur dollar. It is very quiet, so if u want to party try somewhere else. There is no front desk, just an office that is not staffed all day. There is a security person at night. It is off the beaten track but has fab apts and huge palm trees all over. Wake up to the sounds of tropical birds. My apt has a balcony with 2 sliding glass doors. It faces the sea so there is always a beautiful breeze. The pool is not very deep nor is it heated. It has been so hot that a cool dip is appreciated. Everything is kind of old and could use an update, but if it did this place would be twice the price.Just so you know don't bother emailing the hotel because u will not get a reply. Turns out the office doesn't even have a computer lol.

Great place, if you don't mind not being based in the city center
Loved it! It's a great value for money. These are no hotel room, but flats! Very nicely decorated, very comfy, spacious and with all comfort! There is a cooker and all pans needed to cook, as well as a fridge. The pool area is beautiful, by the sea and you can watch the pelicans hunting the whole day! The food at the "restaurant" is very nice - You have to look for the people which is the only minus of the place. It is not located in the center, but 2 minutes walk to the ferry to Isla Mujeres and taxis are available just outside and take you to the city for cheap (10 minutes drive).

 Decent hotel, far away
Hotel is located very far away from the main attractions of cancun city and a little difficult to find also. The rooms themselves are also fairly average - nothing that stood out. service was helpful!

 A Super Find!
The facility was previously used as condos, so all of the units are fully equipped. The villas and common areas are uniquely decorated and landscaped. We were lucky enough to be on the third floor with a beautiful ocean view. (No elevator, but great exercise.) Each villa has Mexican artwork and collectibles, there are pots and bottles hung from the walls, and an amazing collection of furniture handmade from pallets. The surroundings are interesting to look at, and the hotel is peaceful and quiet, located a block off the main street between it and the beach, next to the Isla Mujeres ferry. There is a small, clean pool, and a snack bar that serves freshly made meals and breakfast. Mariana and Alex, who seem to be in charge during the day, were extremely helpful, carried our bags to the room, and gave us all the important information, like where we could go to buy beer. An awesome find and great value!

Nestled away in traditional Cancun we discovered the most authentic Mexican villas. Casa Mexicana is everything we were looking for in accommodation , location and price. The restaurant is a must and staff friendly and helpful. Thank you all the way from Australia!! X

 Amazing, quiet and beautiful location
Was more than I expected for the price. If you are looking for a place away from all the noise and havoc of tourists this is the place and if you love the rustic look don't think twice. You will also find that it is very convenient as it has the fairies that go to Isla mujeres five minute walk away. Would advice buying breakfast at a local groceries store as there not many options to choose from near by

 GREAT BANG FOR THE BUCK!
Wanted a two night stay to make it easy to get to the EcoColors Whale Shark tour a day before my flight back to the states. This hotel has huge studio apartment rooms fully equipped with a very clean well kept grounds and pool right next door to the ferry pier to Isla Mujeres. This worked out great for me because the port for small boats closed and the whale shark tour was cancelled. I was able to spend the morning swimming and the day in Isla Mujeres. Easy and cheap taxi ($40 pesos) to downtown cancun for dinner - so nice - I definitely recommend this place for a cheap, safe clean place to stay if you intend to do some excursions from the peer like visiting Isla Mujeres or Hotbox or seeing the whale sharks.

Cute little place with a wonderful resteraunt
First off we booked this place through AirBnB. Never do that. Go through here or their website. But that complaint is for another website. This place is a nice little gem. It's small and quiet. The rooms have a full kitchen, a dining area, a little area with a couch, a king size bed, and a bathroom with a nice shower that you could fit Fat B*stard inside of. The AC works wonderfully too. The maid does a wonderful job cleaning and the lady who runs it always has good recommendations. On the grounds is a nice little pool and the most amazing restaurant. Her guacamole is amazing. I've ate that everyday. He grills some amazing fish too. You have to eat there. Outside the property there is a little store to get beer and some snacks on the corner. The ferry terminal is right down the road with a 24hr Oxxo (convenience store) in it. Wonderful place to stay. Highly recommend it.

 Would have been great...except
The best part about Casa Mexicana is the little restaurant owned by Andrey and Albina. They made us an amazing meal of Blackfin Tuna and Red Snapper, steamed vegetables, and rice. Albina makes the best guacamole you're ever going to eat!! I would definitely say that the broken air conditioner and late night party that went on below our room, was easy to overlook, because of how well we were treated earlier in the day. The views here are great! The pool is very nice as well. I will say that when I went down to the managers office at 1:30 in the morning and told him that we just couldn't take the loud music anymore, that he did go put a stop to the party. Casa Mexicana is right next to the ferry terminal (the main reason I booked it) to Isla Mujeres. One major con: There are no buses that run anywhere near there, so we had to take a taxi everywhere to Cancun. All in all, it was a decent stay, but we probably won't book here again. We will, however, go visit Andrey and Albina and have some of their amazing food.

Great house next to the ferry
I wanted a nice place, near the ferry to Isla Mujeres, with nice food and a lot of privacy.Casa Mexicana was perfect. We got an apartment with two bedrooms, living room, kitchen, and two terraces overlooking the sea.The place is beautiful, very quiet, and 2 min away walking from the ferry. The rooms have fan and aircon, one has a TV, and the kitchen is very well equipped.Wifi all over the place. We had breakfast in the restaurant by the sea, it was great, very fresh and delicious. I did not bother to buy anything for the next day as I wanted to have breakfast there again. Also the staff is very friendly and helpful.

 Excellent
It was my first time in Mexico. The hotel is a little bit outside Cancun, which is very good, if you can really discover local life. The rooms are really amazing. I love it decorations inside the room. The restaurant with view on the sea is amazing! I can't wait to go back!!

 At restaurant now
Just had our fish served fresh off the wood-fueled BBQ.
