 Nice Hotel
From the beginning of our arrival until a week later to our departure we had a very pleasant experience at the Emporio Hotel in Cancun Hotel Mile. Our group of eight had to wait a moment until all rooms were assigned. One couple received an upgrade to a suite due to the wait. (They were happy about it). Our suite was very spacious and clean. The ac was blasting cold and felt nice coming in from the high humidity. The view was to the pool and ocean and we enjoyed sitting with the friends on the large balcony. (Hotel rooms have small balcony). The bathroom/shower are a bit dated but the maid kept everything very clean. The suite had a safe, extra beds in the living room and full kitchen which was nice to keep some food on hand. We booked with breakfast and the buffet was incredible. The buffet was available until noon which was like brunch and you could manage until dinner. The other foods for lunch or dinner a la carte were all delicious. There is also a nice Italian restaurant on site and we enjoyed a good meal one of the nights . To go off site we went across the street to the Captains Cove and a 5 star for this place. Another restaurant we visited was the Crab House (very fancy and good) The beach was clean and the waves were high due to daily windy weather. Drinks on the beach weak or it was just too hot and you sweat it out too fast The staff was super friendly and very detail oriented. Front desk, door man , waiters and house keepers all hard working folks. Overall a great deal.

Great time in a wonderful hotel !!!
We arrived late at night and our checkin was quick and easy. Our room was one of the best parts of the trip, it was one of the renovated units and I have to say they are increidible !!! everything is well thought and convenient, the size of the room was excellent, amenities, daily bottles of water, coffee maker.....I couldnt ask for more. The on ly thing we found was that the tub plug did not work, I called front desk and in less than 5 min !! (can you believe that ?) we had someone from maintenance fixing it up. The food and drinks had an excellent quality, service was awesome !! it gave me the sensation that all of the waiters cared about us.Overall the property might not be completely new (they are renovating little by little) but it has been well kept and every detail has been well thought to make your life easier and your vacations enjoyable.I will definitly return here in the future and I really hope you give yourself the time to enjoy this place as much as we did.

 Bad check in, great installations
We came on low season (september) and the hotel wasn't at their fullest. There're were really few people. We arrived really early to the hotel (9:00 am) to enjoy the whole day with the expectation of having the room a little before the check in. We understand hotels have policies, but in all my vacations I always get a room if I arrive early. This is the first time that the receptionists didn't do anything to give us the room before. They told us (really decisively) that the check in is at 3:00 pm. We didn't got the room any minute before that time, even though I asked for it again at 11:00 and at 2:00 pm. I stood up on the front desk at exactly 3:00 pm and they gave us the room. I would've understood this situation if it was high season with the hotel being at their fullest, but this was not at all the case. I consider that the personnel should've at least try to give us the room before as cortesy. The installations are great! good swimming pool, resting areas, and friendly personnel that organizes games. The food is dealicious but really really expensive! the breakfast buffet is $285 per person (MX pesos) with few things to select from (we didn't pay it because it's not worth it). On a dinner we spent more than $600 on only 2 dishes and 2 beaverages (lemon juice and gin tonic)

 Wonderful, beautiful view!
I was already astonished by the photos I saw on booking sites, connected to its prices, so I went with a "be prepared" attitude, but still, I was pleasantly surprised.Emporio Hotels & Suites Cancún offers beautiful, very spacious rooms, THE MOST comfortable bed and pillows I've ever slept on, perfect bathroom area and amenities, big, private terrace with the most stunning view to the sea (which you can see and enjoy even just lying on the bed); spacious wardrobe / chest of drawers, good internet connection, great swimming pool area with plenty of activities for kids, as well as nice beach service, massage, restaurants and pool bar. Despite the size of the hotel, you will sleep in total silence and peace.Reception staff is very welcoming, friendly and helpful, particularly Coral, Carlos (Reception Coordinator), Iran (Bell Boy), Zury, Paola, all led by Patrícia, the Front Desk Manager, clearly the leadership key to its success, as she is firm, but also fair, accessible, showing empathy and respect for guests. The swimming pool is open till 10 pm., which is great; security staff is discreet, but with their eyes open. Friendly and helpful staff there too, with Fatima, responsible for fun activities for kids, also helping in the beach area.I loved this hotel and highly recommend it, as I've already started doing it on Facebook and I will definitely go back.

 Yes and also not
This hotel is huge like any other one in Cancun. The hotel is made by few wings or palaces. One palace has been renovated and the rest is old style. The rooms old style are very large with a small balcony. If you take the family suite you will get a large balcony with a great view. The architecture of this hotel is kind of beautiful.Plus are: beach-pool-position-staff-size of the family rooms-minimarket. Minus are: kind of old rooms-no good food at the restaurant-noise from the wing under renovation-very old and no window bathrooms. Overall is a acceptable hotel for 2 nights. Aircon system in the rooms is super noisy, seventy style. It's almost good, I think once all renovated it will be again a great hotel. Staff super friendly and polite.

 Wonderful time!
First time in cancun and I couldn't have had a better time. The staff at the emporio showed great professionalism and made us feel like they really cared about us! The waiters at the restaurant were very attentive and curtious and the heat did not seem to bother them or interfere with their services! Alberto thank you very much for the delishes crepes and for always being attentive to our needs. The drinks were not only delishes but had great presentation! Our room was spacious, clean, and had a wonderful ocean view. Thank you Dulce for being flexible with our schedule. We stood there for a week and had a great stay here. Will recommend to family and friends.Karla :)

 Fun! Fun! Fun
Hotel staff was very nice and professional. The food was very good with a nice variety. Only down side was that due to the extreme heat the desserts were on the warm side. Adan was one of our waiters and he was great! Albert at the bar provided us with excellent service and made delicious pina coladas!! We stayed there a week and had a spectacular ocean view. There is some construction going on but it did not interfere with our plans. There were always people keeping the hotel clean and ready to tend to our needs. Dulce was our house keeper and was very nice. We will definitely be returning.* GET THE ALL INCLUSIVE PACKAGE AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT FOOD OR DRINKS!!IT IS WELL WORTH THE PRICEViviana

FELT SAFE AND RELAXED DURING OUR STAY
My family and I had an amazing week at Cancun. This was our first trip there and it could not have been better. The staff at the Emporio Hotel were professional and welcoming from the moment we exited the taxi, to the lobby, and to house keeping where Dulce kept our room orderly! Also, Adan was very attentive at the restaurantwaiting on our every need. In addition, my teenage girls enjoyed their sports entertainer which kept them busy at the beach playing volleyball and soccer when they weren't enjoying the beach. Lastly, Alberto at the bar went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of!! He demonstrated proffesionalism and provided us with great food and drinks at the bar and at the poolside. If you are planning a family trip I recommend this place for their tranquility and relaxing atmosphere. Not the party scene but the clubs are relatively nearby.A.M.

 Clean, friendly staff
Stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel overall is very clean, constantly saw hotel staff cleaning up outside. The pool areas are great, restaurant food was good (only ate breakfast but they had a lot of variety) pool bar/food was good too. Staff across the hotel was very friendly and accommodating. They took time to answer all of our questions. The rooms are a bit dated but still have all of the amenities you need including a mini fridge. Every room has a view of the pool and the ocean with a balcony. If you get a suite, 2 or 3 rooms can join with adjoining patios as well. Location is good with a nice beach. It's a bit far from the main Cancun hotel zone but a short taxi ride away. Overall great stay!

 It was okay
I went with my mom and daughter. The hotel was under renovation but didn't affect our stay. Pool was nice and the beach was beautiful. We ate breakfast at the hotel but was too pricey for the options given. We decided to eat out instead. The staff were friendly. My only complaint was that we arrived early at 10am and I asked to check in earlier, in order to leave our bags, but had to wait almost 15 minutes past the check in time, of 4pm, and our room still wasn't ready. Also our room wasn't properly sealed and the water from the storm leaked from the sliding door to the beds and towards the bathroom. My mom spend the whole morning mopping the floor so that no one would slip! I went with low expectations and hoped for the best. It want the best but It could have been better! I stayed at the Grand Mayan and so far that is the best I've been to in Riviera Maya!

 Perfect vacation
If it would be a bit more luxurious, it would deserve 5 stars for me. The staff was excellent and the food was awesome (we only had breakfast). The beach is very clean and breathtaking. There isn't a single thing I can complain about.

 Overall Experience
The hotel was under construction BUT there was no noises that disturbed my stay. The staff was very helpful and the front desk is a 24 hr service. Therefore, if you have an early flight before the check-out time you can always leave earlier and drop off the towel and bedroom key. The on site restaurants were okay for the two times we ate there. There are a few restaurants in front of the hotel that you can go to if the ones at the hotel are not for you. The beach was at the foot of the hotel, with the clear blue water. Service from staff on the beach was amazing. The rooms were cleaned very well. I highly recommend considering this hotel as one of your options. Two weeks ago I was looking at reviews and I know how difficult it is to find the best hotel. I got a promo tagged along when I booked the hotel. Just make sure that on your itinerary it shows this promotion, and if not call the booking agency you went through (i.e. Expedia) and have them send it to you. I also highly suggest going to a market to buy small snacks, drinks, and food. There is a Walmart and you would take the bus R-2. You can always tell the driver Walmart and he will drop you off at the foot of the store. Just remember to take the same bus back to your hotel. You would tell them hotel zone and the name of your hotel. There is a small store in the hotel by the bathrooms near the pool. It sneaks behind the corner. You can buy food and drinks here but they may be a bit more expensive. If you have children, buy them goggles for the ocean and pool. The ocean has a lot of salt water and can be damaging to the eyes. The weather is extremely humid and hot. So don't bring that many clothes! This was a mistake I did and I didn't even wear 2/3 of the clothes I brought.I hope this review helps with choosing a hotel and place to stay. I highly recommend staying in hotel zone because the water is clearer and the environment is better. If you book through expedia like I did call them once you are there or the receptionist should give you a call, and they have tourist packets you can do, such as XCARET, ChiChen Itza, Isla Mujeres, etc... Give them a call at your home area before traveling to see if you can book those trips before or do it once in Cancun. Check with Expedia or your booking agency first to see if its cheaper. It'll be more expensive if you buy at the place or from other vendors.

 Beautiful Hotel with Friendly staff
Emporio Hotel you were so good to my family and I !!!! about 20 minutes from the airport. A very family orientated hotel with a very lovely atmosphere. There are kids clubs, kids pool, great food, great room with spectacular views and off course the beach was so beautiful I did not need to go into the water. I sat on the white sand and enjoyed all the beautiful views and sounds of the ocean. The water was a little rough so be careful. The staff was so friendly and was genuinely sweet. My kids had a blast and made lots of friends. We would most definitely be back at Emporio the next time we come to Mexico. Thank you for a wonderful time

 Amazing family experience
Me and my family really enjoyed our complete trip, the entire staff was kind and warm in both restaurants, pool bar and in the Kid's club, extra special shout out to Fatima, she's so nice!!! It seems that she really likes her work cause my son was completely fascinated with her activities in the club, thank you so much! Definitely we'll see you the next year!

Great Service at an awesome price!
We stayed last month for one week at tha Emporio Hotel and suites. The best features of this hotel are location and service. I sent a message before to reception telling that my wife and I were celebrating our 24th anniversary and Sandra Sandoval a manager assistant was awesome, she offered me to have a welcoming/wedding anniversary for us. I was able to surprise my wife with a message on our bed that my wife loved (see pics.) She was attentive the whole time we were there, one of the best service we've received even better than other 5 star hotel we had visited. The breakfast at the restaurant was pretty good, too. We'll defenitly be back.

 Definitely a nice hotel,
I stayed here with my family for a weekend last november. This place is located 15 minutes aw2ay from the Airport. It's a family oriented hotel, which creates a very smooth atmosphere. There are 2 pools, a kid's club which is very small and has a limited schedule. There was only 1 restaurant opened for breakfast so we had to wait like 20 minutes to get a table. The food was OK.The Italian Restaurant opens for dinner only with previous reservation. The food was OK, but the staff was very slow and not so helpful. The room I had was on the 8 floor, the view from here was awsome, there was a little balcony where you could see the beautiful colour of the ocean, at night the pool was very well lighted. The room furtniture was old, the hotel management definitely need to do a renovation in the room. The beach looked beautiful, but just be careful, there was rough tide at the beach, they always kept the red flag on the mast.Check-out time is at noon, but you can still enjoy the facilities until 5:00 PM.There was no parking, I had to park on the street, next to the hotel.Overall we had a good time for 3 days.

 Two nights stay in November
Access was a bit confusing. Staff was lovely, efficient and helpful, even though we waited for them to bring our suitcases into our room for over 30 min. Dinner wasn't the best, but breakfast made up for it. Swimming pool and area is great, beach is great.

Nicest Beach on the Hotle Zone!
For the past 2 years, we have spent a wonderful week each winter at The Emporio. The suites with the full kitchen are well worth the money. Very spacious, pay extra to have your balcony overlooking the ocean. It is under $20 more per day, well worth it. The hotel is very clean, the beach is the most manicured out of any on the hotel zone.

 Cancun never disappoints!
My family and I attended a destination wedding in Cancun Mexico. We did not stay at the isolated resort where the wedding took place(The Jade). We stayed on the famous beach in Cancun at the Emporio hotel & Suite resort. It was fabulous!! The downside was the checkin process. It took forever, but once you got past that, the rest of our stay was awesome! Our family had a suite, and my room opened to a set of French doors that opened to the balcony, with a fantastic view of the ocean!!The wedding was beautiful, but the beach we stayed at was flawless, and we were not far from the beach strip and the high end mall in Cancun. We had so much fun, and the staffGave us information about the area, and made our stay pleasant!!I have been to Cancun many times, and have always stayed on that beach. Every resort gets at least 4 stars!

 LOVE THIS PLACE
I really liked the food. The bar. And if you have small kids the pool is fun. They have like a pirate ship that the little ones will love. There is also a restaurant/bar across the street that gets filled with tourist doing karaoke. It's good fun to watch! The rooms itself are also very nice. I ended up getting an ocean front suite and it was still cheaper than most rooms in other hotels.

 Far less than ideal experience
I have been coming to Cancun since I was 13 (I am now 46). My wife and our 2 boys (11 & 7) have visited Cancun every year since 2010. This hotel was originally part of the Royal Resorts (it was the Royal Mayan) and our timeshare has always been right next door (Royal Caribbean). During our stays, we have frequented both the Mayan and the Islander and more recently the Royal Cancun and the Royal Sands. Our experience has always been top notch. Our recent visit to Cancun began with 3 nights at Secrets the Vine with my Company retreat. After the 3rd night, we transferred to the Emporio based upon our familiarity with the property. Since it has gone private and transitioned away from the Royal Resorts, I can safely say that our experience has gone from a 5 to a 2. I am fluent in Spanish and I do like to interact with the staff and locals, but I don't always want to play my cards that way. I can tell you that 99% of the staff speaks little to no English and makes no effort to accommodate those that do not speak Spanish. The service is sub par, the food is also subpar. I will not return, but I do look forward to our return visit to the Royal Caribbean in November. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone including locals.

 Good bang for the buck
Emporio is on the main hotel strip facing the ocean, hence well located as are rest of the hotels. It has all the resort style amenities I could ask for and not as expensive as rest of the bigger resorts on the strip. That said, the rooms (especially bathroom) felt like it needed some renovation as the design feels old. But I got what I paid for. Rooms and resort is clean and well maintained by the staff. There are plenty of lounge chairs and bar by the beach where staff comes to serve drinks as well as pool area. The water sports and activities are next to the hotel. The water was a bit rough (may be it was the day) and there was some weed. But it looked like the hotel had cleaned up the weed. Everything felt easy and I had a great time. I would recommend it for a budget stay.

It was ok. But no great
Well as you can read in the Emporio website review the hotel it's on construction which it didn't affect my vacation at all the hotel is really well maintain grounds and the people is really nice and always ready to help. Pools were always nice and clea. Of course needs to renovation the furniture and appliances are probably or at least 15 years old the the shower water never stayed in the temperature which it turn to hot and a few seconds really cold and I never experienced a nice shower worst my daughter had to deal with this as well. Service. Like I said all the personal were very nice and helpful no problems as well I didn't see any problems any time I was in the lobby.Food. The restaurant needs a really update in the restaurant chairs are to big and heavy and very uncomfortable to get up specially in buffet time, really awful. Plus the food service is awful the 1st day is fine and if you want to stay in the hotel you have to enjoy the food as well which not in this case for a family with kids it's really inconvenient even do you have the store inside the hotel or have to take taxi for the nearest grocery store. I have been in another hotel and enjoying the hotel with good to great food with out going out of the hotel having many options inside the resort. Location. Well probably this is a 5* and only good think the beach it's beautiful but again if you want to sit in the beds you have to spend at least $20.00 which should be included also it's located to Cancun area of restaurants and night clubs but if you are traveling with your family there are better options in Riviera Maya the resorts are worthy. Any way to resume No I won't stay in this hotel in the future.

Beautiful pool area, right by beach & excellent staff - Jorge especially!
The hotel is right on the beach and the views are absolutely stunning and the area around the two pools is great for relaxing. The best thing about this hotel though was our wonderful server Jorge Flores. We didn't have the all inclusive package but we still ate at the main hotel restaurant each night, right between the pools. The food was good but Jorge's service was what was worth returning for each evening, he was so kind and attentive and really made our week at Emporio feel special.

 Vacation
Awesome hotel & service. Beautiful private beach, huge pool with a great swim up bar. Italian restaurant & Mexican buffet were also great. Not far from the Main Street to ear all the action is. Also have excellent staff. Including a bartender by the name of Marcos Ivan Jimenez. He's was awesome. I will definitely be back to Cancun soon & will absolutely stay at Emporio again.

 Food could be better
The hotel ground overall very good. Hotel very clean , my room was very clean. Excellent area around the pool.I arrived at t 11am and we waited exactly until 3pm for them to assign us a room. There is no ATM inside the hotel. We walked all the outside down the hill and across the street to get cash. Some staff are friendly others need more customers skills. My biggest disappointment was the food . Not a lot of choices, food was very not appetizing. Sometime cold. They need to work on their food selection a lot.

 Perfectly located
Great location and an even better hotel. The place is very safe and secure and located off the main hotel strip. Beach out the front and a short walk/drive to the other beaches and attractions. A short cab ride down to coco bongo.

Wonderful Stay - Thanks to Fatima & Angie in Club Piruetas
First of all, thanks to Fatima and Angie in the Kids Club for being so nice with my daughter. They made her time at the resort extra special. The property has all of the amenities for a great time in Cancun: a fantastic beach, great pool area, and plenty of activities for adults and kids alike. We had a very spacious suite with a full kitchen, dining and living room area. My wife liked the hotel's bath products very much as well. The buffet breakfast is good quality and served from 7 am through 12 noon daily which was nice if you're sleeping in on vacation. Part of the hotel is being renovated but there wasn't much noise because they are doing it in sections of the hotel that are temporarily closed to guests. The people were very friendly and service levels high. A wonderful stay overall. Thanks again.

 CANCUN -RELAX IN MEXICAN PARADISE
My wife and children had the pleasure of staying at the Emporio hotel 6/17-what great place to stay!We had wonderful condo- like accommodations over looking the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. We had 2 bedrooms and a living room with 2 fold down beds, full kitchen,2 baths and wonderful ocean view porch.Meal plans for all inclusive food service are available .-we opted for the breakfast only plan that delivered mouth-watering Mexican inspired food with additional fresh fruits and pastries..We love to eat out at many local eateries and there were plenty in walking distance.including CAPTAIN'S COVE -recommended by the friendly hotel staffThe staff was vey friendly and accommodating .The resort had several tour booking services on site including " Best Day" WHICH HELPED US PLAN A MEMORABLE TRIP TO TULUM AND THE MAYAN JUNGLE.The pools were nice and the beach immaculate-with both wonderful pool and beach service. My wife and i took advantage of a relaxing Ocean side massage performed to perfection .This resort was both spectacular ,but very reasonable as well.I recommend it and would stay here again

 The worst!!!!
I don't know where to start, I think is one of the worst hotel experiences we had, the food was terrible, the rooms were really dirty, we pay to have the breakfast included and when I asked for a bottle of water the said that's extra!!! I called to ask for a spoon for my son to eat cereal because we stayed at the new renovated rooms, we didn't have a kitchen, the guy in room service said they don't have spoons, I said" really"???? He said " come down and look for your self"!!! Wow, terrible!!!!

Great Hotel Accomodations & Location in Cancun
We enjoyed the freak location and facilities for this hotel. My family and I had great time during our stay. Close enough to to Cancun areas and driving distance (1 hour approximately) to all the Parks and Attactions (Xplor, Xel-Ha, Xcaret, etc).Great pool and big enough, beach area is also great and they have plenty of furniture where you don't have a problem getting a spot where to relax even during our recent stay on high season. We will definitely come back for sure.

 What An Experience!!
I stayed at the Emporia Hotel, the beach was breathtaking. The most beautiful beach I've ever seen. Everything was super clean! Our room cleaning person Yimi Alexa was great! He was so nice and took care of us very well. He even left us a note saying he will be back with towels when he stepped away from the room. I would suggest having a spot in the hotel where you can listen to music and dance, there wasn't much entertainment at the hotel. I would also suggest having a little more variety of foods and places to eat at the hotel. Overall I had a great time, everyone was so nice and made me feel welcomed. I will never forget this experience.

 Good Hotel
We were transferred here for 1 night because there was an issue with our original hotel. The property was very nice. Check-in was easy. The room was great. The floors are wood tile, the beds are comfortable and the bathroom had a separate privacy-glass shower and toilet. The balcony was nice and the room had an automatic blackout shade. We are at the grill next to the pool. The food was good.

How to ruined your vacation in 8 day
we stayed at Emporio Resort Cancun, first I was charged extra for an other person and never received a room I've been fighting for the refund which I had no response, the only room we received was horrible next to the construction site which was loud from 9 am to about 6 pm, and I had a non working toilet, and I asked for a different room which they refused to changed our room, they are not considerate of a handicap person, the housekeeping was terrible, Management doesn't care about customers the only thing they care about is taking your money.

Way overpriced for what you get!
We went here on a family vacation and stayed 4 nights. The check in staff was nice, then that's it! We choose a room with a kitchen that could accommodate my husband and I, as well as our 2 teenage children. We never had wash clothes in our room for the entire stay. When I called and asked for 4 of them they brought 2, but then the next day when towels were changed, we never got wash clothes left again. We had to wash with hand towels the entire trip. The kitchen had no dish soap or dishwasher detergent. Also no washcloth or dry/hand towels for use in the kitchen. Our ocean view room was on the ground floor with the view blocked by the giant sign that was at the entrance to the beach. There was a water feature outside of our sliding door patio, that never had any water in it, only over pruned plants. The sliding door to the patio took 2 hands and full force push to open each time because the rollers were broken on it. When it came time to leave, at an early 4 o'clock in the morning, we were told we needed a ticket to get a taxi to the airport. We gave the front door staff the ticket, sat for 30 minutes waiting for our taxi, then when I asked how much longer it might be, the doorman said," oh you want a taxi?" The taxi then arrived within 2 minutes. This was a splurge for us,and definitely not worth the money we paid. We stayed at 2 other hotels, one in Piste and the other in Holbox, on this trip. Both were far less expensive and yet had much better service and amenities for what we paid. I have stayed at Fiesta Americana Villas on previous trips and would recommend that hotel over this one.

 Good hotel, bad restaurant
We wanted to try the restaurant food but we got disappointed because they didn't serve us what we asked for. We asked for three chicken soups but the soups didn't have chicken. We ask the servers to fix that and they just brought two soups because I "almost finished mine".Because of that we didn't eat there anymore. The hotel in general is very comfortable and the staff is very resposible and kind.

 Very relaxing
Almost everything was perfect. The rooms were big, clean, the pool is warm enough, the beach is awsome. Our clean-person was "Gustavito". His service was excellent. The only thing that was not that good is a lot of the time there was nobody in the sports center, so you couldn't get any game, ball, sport equipment. But the staff in general was very kind.

 Mixed
I want to say that this was my 4th trip to Emporio not doing all-inclusive. I have written other reviews and am a regular on the Cancun/Playa forum. 99% of my reviews are positive. I will start with the pros of this resort. Very clean, has great food and drinks. One of the best things is they have permanently installed grass huts at the beach and even high season there is no towel game on the beach. I also noticed open chairs at the pool. The hotel is shaped like a horseshoe. Because it's on a hill the 4th floor is actually the main floor level with the pool and main desk. Bld D,E and M are actual beach front, bld F has no view at all, its behind a bld. The other bld's are facing the pool and you might be able to see the ocean just a bit. We were in a 1 bedroom suite with full kitchen. They have a store onsite open 24/7 with good prices. Also have a laundry that will deliver to your room. Nice surprise was the new 2 story parking garage ( yes we rent a car) that was free, newly installed sun beds at the pool and beach and one bld is done with new balcony fronts being installed. The breakfast buffet is awesome and the Italian restaurant will deliver menu food and pizza to your room. I am extremely upset and frustrated they keep emailing us about our stay and when I keep responding we get no answer but yet keep getting emails us. First issue, the electric went out on May 24th county wide. Ok, fine, make the best of it and hit the beach. Now any reasonable person would think being a week from hurricane season the back up generators would power up at least for the front desk, bars and restaurants. I can understand not the rooms. Get to the beach we can't have frozen drinks or charge to our room, thank god we had cash, all of Cancun no electric. So we get back to our room and start backing a bag because it was flat to hot to stay in that room, even with balcony open. No communication from front desk, I mean absolutely nothing. Thank god at 5:30pm it came back on so we unpacked. Now the 1 bedroom has a huge balcony and sits next door to a superior room that has a sliding door but doesn't have access to the big balcony. I walk out in my nightgown and jumped a foot because a lady was on our balcony. Staff had accidentally left their lock off and they walked out. To show how nice I am I shook the ladies hand introduced myself and let her sit and enjoy herself, I went back in and took a shower. The man at the front desk was horrified and locked it. It didn't happen again. The last night we were there we literally got stuck in the glass elevator for about 20 min, it jumped and stopped between floors. First I laughed at our luck until it got hot and an employee sitting at a desk below laughing. Never got up to help. We had to be pulled out because like I said it stopped between floors. We never got a sorry or any correspondence from management. I realize things happen but come on, you have to have customer service. **** General Manager please respond to us. Please don't just reply with a standard form response. This is ridiculous. We also are RCI members and the first 3 trips were thru them but this was 100% full retail paying customers. I can't wrap my head around "you" sending us emails about our stay but yet you won't respond.

 Very nice place.
The service was excellent. Every single staff member was friendly and helpful. Jaime, a supervisor at the buffet restaurant, was excellent. Our housekeeper, Santa (not sure if that is correct name), was outstanding--above and beyond what was necessary. We had a one BR suite (1 king size bed in BR; murphy beds in living room; kitchen). The beds were plenty comfortable--even the pull-down murphy bed. All very clean. The kitchen needed work: chips in the counter tops and a couple of very warped cabinet doors. All sink/toilet/shower fixtures worked fine, but kind of older design. Living room furniture looked fine, and was comfortable. The sliding doors leading to the balcony were in definite need of repair. It was always a struggle to push them open or closed. The balcony had a great view of the beach and Caribbean. Sitting on the balcony drinking a fresh cup of coffee watching the sea roll in every morning was a great way to start each day.The beach was very nice. Well maintained. The thatch covered cabanas were plentiful and the chairs were comfortable. The surf was more challenging than I expected; the water was a perfect temperature, but the waves were too intense to allow any kind of relaxing swim. This seemed to be the case for all the hotels along the Zona Hotelera. We only ate at the buffet restaurant. Plenty of variety; different 'themes' each night; almost all of the food was very good, some was excellent. The Mexican food night was the best night (probably no surprise there!).Overall, it was a very enjoyable week-long stay.

 Great Service
HI just completed a week at the hotel , overall the hotel is very clean but does need an overhaul which is very much in evidence with the construction going on in one of the sections. The noise itself is not noticeable in the rooms and we were 2 rooms away. You can hear some of it when you are down in the pool area but not too bothersome. The Italian restaurant was very good in terms of the food and the service. The regular daily buffet was very good and should add a little more creativity in terms of different themes. The best part was the staff Enrique, Herberth and Xavier were always there with smiles and help. At the Bar Sam and all his crew were always there to keep our glasses full and would ask me where the BOSS was when I was down alone. There was also Martin the bellboy in front who went out of his way to help us sort out a mixed up excursion.Overall very satisfied with the hotel and not the administration of the package by Sunwing itself. The plane was relatively new and there was hardly any legroom , and I am not very tall only 5/10 and there were major screw ups with the excursions I booked through Sunwing. I will be taking this up with them, overall 4 out of 5

We were only there overnight, but it looked like a place you could really enjoy for a week or more
We had a week-long reservation further down the coast, and were only in this hotel overnight to accommodate a whale shark trip. We arrived in the afternoon, ate dinner out, and left early the next morning, so we didn't avail ourselves of most of the amenities, but it certainly seemed like a great place. We booked an ocean front Junior Suite so that we (a couple) could have the bedroom and 2 grown kids could share the other room without having to share a bed. I had a hard time finding photos online of how that set-up worked, so I've included one with my review of the living room with the Murphy beds down. With the beds up, you have a sofa, a coffee table, and a bookshelf opposite. On either side of the bookshelf are the Murphy beds, which pull down to provide 2 twin beds (and still leave room if someone wanted to sit or sleep on the sofa). The whole suite was spacious - a full kitchen, which I'm not sure you'd need, given the resort is all-inclusive, and a nice round table (that we used for playing games, but you could sit at to eat, too) in the living area, with a lovely patio with unobstructed ocean views. The hallway back to the bedroom had a long countertop with dual sinks, meaning there was plenty of room for hair drying and teeth brushing and the putting on of makeup or sunscreen, and at the end of the hall on one side was the bedroom (which also opened to the patio) and on the other side was a tiny room with the tub/shower combo and toilet. That little room was so small you couldn't turn around in it, which is my only complaint about the whole suite. We enjoyed the pool and the swim up bar, walked on the beach (which had its own bar, with swings) and breakfast was plentiful, varied, and good. We walked to the bus stop to take the bus to the shopping/dining hub, which is a quick, cheap and easy way to get around.Check in was slow, but the staff was very nice once it got to be your turn.

 All Inclusive Greatness!!
Me and my gf arrived at 11:00 am. The hotel stored our luggage until we checked in at 3:00pm so that we could enjoy the amenities and beach. This hotel is a gem. The workers were all amazing especially Macdiel (beach bar), Jorge Flores, Jaime Navarro, Daniel (bar), Daniel (beach), Antonio, Maria, Ben, Isidro, Javier, Adan, Elias, Herbert, and Ivan were all amazing. You will see these people everyday. They are extremely hardworking people and they will remember your order and treat you like a king or queen. Tip them and be polite and don't hesitate to ask questions about their culture as they take great pride in their beautiful Mayan culture. The food is delicious at the Italian restaurant Bacoli. I loved the buffet because I don't care a lot about variety. To me, having a nice mexican omlette with some quesidillas and AMAZING fruits for breakfast with all types of coffee is more than enough. My lunch consisted of wings and nachos by the beach (EVERYDAY!). I especially enjoyed the mexican themed dinners because it's my favorite food. The beach infront of Emporio and adjacent hotels is amazing because there is a stretched shallow end where you could safely enjoy the big waves. I enjoyed watching the football/soccer games with local mexicans. To me, this is better than night shows. We will definitely visit again!

If you're looking for No Fun and to be in Bed by 11:00pm, than this is the resort for you
First of all this will be a bit of a lengthy review, but I assure you you will know everything you need to before booking. My husband (45) and I (30) visited this resort from May 11-18 2017. It was a VERY quiet vacation. We are not by any means party animals but we do enjoy a little excitement and this resort doesn't offer any of that.I will mention that we like to believe that we are "well traveled" as we have attended various resorts in the south (on average two/year for the last eight years) and feel confident in the opinions I offer:The Food: This is by far the worst food we have ever had, the options are very limited in the buffet and there is only one al a carte restaurant. I have had better food in Mexico. The only food we enjoyed was the "snack bar" items that were served around the pool during the day.The Grounds: this resort is kept impeccably clean, beautiful ocean view, but would encourage the resort to consider better seaweed maintenance on the beach as it took away from such an incredible beachThe Room: We had an ocean view suite and was a little outdated but very spacious with a view that was to die for The Staff: This is one area I will say I was impressed, the staff at this resort are very accommodating. Jorge around the pools service was by far top notch he was always there to refill a drink or offer us lunch. His efforts didn't go unnoticed and if he sees this, Mucho Gracia Jorge- You were amazing. Oscar and his entertainment team were a lot of fun during the day and always had various events going on. My husband tended to take part in them far more often than I did, but they were encouraging to everyone and seemed to truly enjoy their jobsBen who manages the a la care was such a sweetheart, he was always teasing my husband and made our several visits to this restaurant more enjoyable. Overall this is not a hotel I would recommend. All the best to you if you choose to visit this resort, but I would recommend bringing some extra cash to eat off of the resort and visit down town for some excitement.
