 Cancún Resort spa
Husband and I treated ourselves to a massage today. With therapists Elena and Annetta it was pure relaxation. Can hardly wait to top it off with facials tomorrow. Here for a true vacation? Don’t miss this!

 A New Home
Returned from a 10 night stay at the Marriott Cancun Resort and have found a new home. Traveling to Cancun in late September is ideal if you don’t like a crowded resort and typically have lower prices. It has been several years since visiting the Cancun area and we normally don’t stay in the hotel zone. After a visit to the Marriott in Puerto Vallarta this past February, we decided to give the Marriott Cancun a try. We booked the Rewards package that included shuttle to and from the airport, 25% discount on all meals, breakfast buffet and several other perks. Airport arrival on a Wednesday made the trip through customs & immigration a quick 30 minutes until we were outside waiting on the shuttle. Marriott uses an outside company (Prestige) for the airport transportation; which was excellent. We had to wait about 20 minutes for some other people going to the Marriott. We also used the same service on the return to the airport. We were greeted at the front door of the Marriott with a big smile and welcome. The entire 10 days we would receive the same welcome and smile anytime we exited the front. Check in took about 3 minutes and we were offered an upgraded room for an additional cost. The room was water view on the pool side, located on the fourth floor. We had a Wonderful, updated, modern room that had a great balcony view. The room was kept extremely clean by Melina each day; she also made a different towel animal, which showed her creativity. This was a big hit with my spouse, who looked forward each afternoon to see what the new creation was. They also had a turn down service at night which was nice; although it was somewhat random on the time they showed up; sometimes 5:30PM and the next night 9:30PM and some nights not at all. The first day they sent up a nice welcome chocolate strawberry’s plate welcome gift; although they did forget my wife’s birthday surprise a few days later. Something we liked was the one cup coffee maker, which we used every morning sitting on the balcony. The hotel provides a few bottles of water in your room each day. A few times we asked housekeeping for extra water and they were always very generous. Almost everyone at the pool is hard working, friendly and greets you constantly with a hello and smile. Food and drinks by the pool was better than expected. This is the first resort in many years that I did not fight for chairs around the pool or beach. The plates, cups, food, etc was picked up immediately and the entire pool area was very clean. The highlight for my wife was being involved in the baby sea turtle release program. The employees involved were very informative and even I enjoyed holding and releasing the turtles into the ocean. We ate the breakfast buffet every morning and thought it was one of the best. I highly recommend this as part of your room package. We ate the majority of our other meals throughout the Marriott Cancun & the JW Marriott next door. The restaurants were very good and the service was great. My spouse thought the Sasi Thai restaurant was her favorite and I liked the Argentine Steakhouse the best; although all meals were good. We did eat several meals off site, one being the Crab House Cancun, located walking distance from the Marriott. Food, service and atmosphere was great; although be sure to review your check before paying (they add gratuity & taxes). Be sure to see the local alligator swimming in the water next to the deck. Everything at the Marriott was charged to my room, although I tipped cash/pesos for meals and services. This is a wonderful hotel with a hardworking, friendly staff. We look forward to returning in the near future

This property is a hotel, not resort!
I have to start this review with the fact that I have only ever done all inclusive. The food and drinks were good (overpriced, but expected and typical for a Marriott), and the service great. I guess the reason I am writing this review is to warn others about the type of property this is. This is more of a hotel than a resort. There are no outdoor bars, no lobby or buffet to hang out in during the day or after meals. EVERYTHING is inside. Who goes to Cancun and sits inside at a bar?! Minimal to nothing to do at night (ended up at the bar down the road a lot(blue Gecko), which has incredible food and drinks by the way! at a fraction of the price, and walking distance.) I understand I am used to the all inclusive party outside vibe, but just wanted to warn others who were looking for the same.

Very Friendly Staff and Perfect Location
It was our first time in Cancun. There several resort in the area but my gut feels told me to stick to Marriott instead since I am a member of their rewards program. I was so glad we did.The hotel is simple yet elegant. With its spacious lobby and very helpful and friendly staff - it has by far lived to its reputation of excellent service and accomodation. Our room was in excellent shape, housekeeping staff makes sure that we have everything we need and the turndown service is wonderful. Our daily breakfast was included in the reservation and was served at La Capilla Restaurant. The waiters and hosts were friendly and are very attentive -with special mention to Jose Lazaro and his team. He remembers our names and greets us every morning with a huge smile in his face. What a nice way to start the day.I would recommend this hotel, not just because it is a Marriott, but because of the excellent service the staff provides, the wonderfil upkeep of the facility and its proximity to the beach. We really had a great time!

 Great Time in Cancun
We ate at the La Capilla restaurant for breakfast everyday and loved it. Our waiter Enrique Lopez Gallardo was so wonderful that we always asked to be seated at one of his tables. The pool was our favorite spot to spend the day. They have great drinks and a fabulous view of the sea. I would highly recommend getting the chicken nachos for lunch.

 Absolutely Wonderful
We were here for the PTI committee days and it was such a great time. The entire staff was so pleasant and friendly. The pool felt great and was clean and the food available at the pool was so good! Our room was pristine. We were able to book our excursions at the travel agency at the resort. I also had the opportunity to get a massage one day and Victoria did a phenomenal job. Ive never been so relaxed. I highly recommend for any kind of vacation or business trip.

 Pristine beaches, Incredible Staff!
We love this property! We came here twice last year and each time was amazing! The property itself was very nice- beach volleyball court, pools (not too many- this isn't one of those enormous properties with different sections), kids club (although we didn't go to it so I can't provide any information), gym, several restaurants on site and a few bars. The staff are super sweet and very accomodating. We went with a large party for a special birthday celebration and I let the hotel know about this and they made art with different colored rice on the bed...it was so impressive! We booked the breakfast package with the room and I can't tell you how worth it it was! The breakfast buffet was delicious- filled with fresh fruit, pastries, made to order eggs, omelet station, fresh squeezed juices, I can go on and on....my in-laws still talk about the breakfast to this day! It was a wonderful way to start the day. The rooms are a little on the small side, but the beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are spacious. The housekeeping staff left little animals made of towels and the kids loved it. Each day was a different animal. It was a nice little touch. We enjoyed our days at the beach (the sand is ever so soft and the water is a perfect turquoise) and look forward to returning again. I should note there is no complimentary hotel shuttle to neighboring areas or airport pick up or drop off. There is a hotel airport shuttle but there is a cost associated with it. We got a hotel package that included breakfast and airport shuttle service and it was totally worth it because we didn't have to find out what kind of cab to take or which one to trust. On another trip I did get a rental car and it was definitely nice to have a car to explore the city and other areas (Chitzen Itza, Tulum, Playa del Carmen). The only negative aspect that I can say is that the drinks were a little on the weak side. Other than that it's a beautiful property with attentive staff. We all loved it and the kids keep asking when we're going to go back to this resort.

 Great family vacation
We stayed at the Marriott Cancun in late September. I am not sure if this is a slow time of year for the resort but it felt like we had the whole hotel to ourselves. It was not very crowded and we were able to use the hotel as we liked. The beach is very nice and the water is clean and blue. We visited Cabo San Lucas a few years ago and the current hear was much more tolerable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. You can tell that the hotel is a little older but we enjoyed our stay. We ate at just about all of the restaurants on the grounds and even visited the attache JW Marriott. I think the hotel is good for families.

 Casa Magna Spa
Over the past year and a half we’ve been to the Marriott in Cancun three times. The first two times we were at the Casa magna and this trip we decided to stay at the JW. Yesterday I use the spa at the Casa Magna and experienced one of the best massages in several years. Vinny did an outstanding job. She asked several times if she was meeting my needs, if the pressure needed to be increased or relaxed. She took the time to perform stretches. I would strongly recommend her.

 Beautiful!
My stay was wonderful! Salvador was the name of the gentleman that checked me in to the resort. He was extremely helpful and kind! He was a breath of fresh air after a long flight. Salvador was very professional and answered all the questions I had about the resort and the area. He was wonderful!!

 5 star in every way
We stayed here for 11 nights in August after moving from a disgusting hotel in playa del carmen. The hotel itself was clean and welcoming. The service was second to none, food was delicious (we ate in every restaurant including JW Marriott) they were very willing to cater for vegans by removing cheese from their vegetarian options. Such tasty food!! Swimming pool was clean and we always found beds, beach was exactly what you'd expect from cancun- white sands and clear water! Again, always found beds and waiters would come round and offer drinks and food which they served at your sun bed. The food was very reasonable for the quality and portions.Overall we had a fantastic stay after a huge disappointment at our first hotel.

GREAT TIME IN CANCUN AT MARRIOTT RESORTS
We were beyond happy with our September 22nd visit to Cancun and 5 days stay at the Marriott Cancun Resort. It's connected to the JW Marriott Hotel and Resort which is also a beautiful property. The Staff could not do enough for us from the time we arrived to checking out. It was in between seasons so most Hotels are only 40% to 60% full which provides open space and activities, restaurants without lines or waiting time. It's not in the middle of the all the downtown Hotels properties with a nicer experience for us. The Public Bus system stop right in front, and is really good and only cost $1USD. Pool and Beach were both great. The Food choices are great with the availability of about 10 different places to eat between to two Resort. Guest have access to both. While several visitors we met spoke about how nice their Hotel was, we are completely happy with the decision we made and are already planning another Trip to Cancun and the Marriott.

Wonderful, Wonderful girls trip to Cancun!
I'm rather embarrassed at how long it has taken to write this review. If you're considering this hotel, just go ahead and book it now. It was absolutely wonderful for a week long girls trip! The hotel is away from the hustle and bustle of the party zone, but close enough with a quick cab ride. We were able to walk to a few places for dinner and even ate a few times on site. Upon check in, we upgraded to a oceanfront room, which was absolutely stunning! We hung at the pool every day because the ocean was a little rough. We also ate lunch at the pool cafe each day. Try the shrimp ceviche - it was delicious! Also, we were so confused when we ordered drinks and there were no straws - the hotel is environmentally friendly. Spoons for the frozen drinks are available. There was always plenty of seats available by the pool as well. Big shout out to Fernando at the front desk for always answering our questions at the end of the night. One of our excursions was cancelled and refunded at the last minute, so we went to the spa for facials and massages. It was phenomenal! Shout out to Elena who gave one of the best massages!Don't hesitate with this hotel - you have an amazing time!

 BEST Vacation Ever!!
My husband and I decided to visit Cancun for our 25th wedding anniversary in August, and had no idea what an amazing time was in store for us! The Casa Magna Marriott made our stay from beginning to end memorable. They knew it was our anniversary, and went above and beyond in making our time there extra special. Our ocean view room was spacious & comfortable, and they had champagne & chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us when we arrived. The romantic dinner on the beach, that the hotel offered, was one of the highlights of our trip. We also enjoyed a couples massage at the spa, the beautiful pool, and the relaxing lounge chairs on the beach. The service everywhere in the hotel was exceptional. We also had a blast on several excursions that we booked easily right at the hotel. We want to give special recognition to Geovanni, who took care of us everyday, either by the pool or on the beach, bringing us food and drinks. His genuine service and kindness to us during our stay was first class. He outdid himself making sure we were comfortable, and enjoying our time there. He felt like our friend by the time we left.We definitely would recommend the Casa Magna Marriott to anyone thinking about traveling to Cancun. We hope to return again in a few years with all of our children & grandchildren, and we hope Geovanni will still be there as well :). Thank you to everyone who made our anniversary vacation extra nice. We are so appreciative!

 Excellent Marriott attention
I stayed here for a business summit and I have to say that it was perfect from beginning to end. The attention to detail is outstanding and the service from the staff is extremely attentive and friendly, they make you feel like home every minute. They really live up to the Marriott philosophy. I went up to my room to find a welcome amenity, just beautiful and thoughtful, i needed a toothbrush, it wasn't five minutes before they brought it to me, they care about global warming so they have a towel policy... they take care of every detail. The bellboy, the front desk staff and at your service staff really went all the way to make me feel welcomed. And regarding the property, it's really beautiful, high ceilings, impressive chandeliers, beautiful pool and beach, I can't think of an area of opportunity. Absolutely great!

I had such a wonderful time at this hotel!! I came here with my husband and stayed there for 5 nights (honeymoon). The staff upgraded our room and it was Wonderful! Also, we had a great time with the resorts employees. My husband and I wanted to play volleyball and we asked a few of them to play and they agreed!! The game played with them was literally one of the things we enjoyed the most from our stay at the hotel!! Also, we did an activity in the hotel in which we got to put baby turtles in the water! BEST EXPERIENCE EVER! There were like 500 turtles! Our room was very nice, super comfortable. However it has a small fridge with some snacks that you had to purchase. So we never opened the fridge since it had a lock. Overall my experience here was outstanding. David went above and beyond to make us feel great here! He even gave us a little chocolate dessert that says honeymoon or something like that. It was a very nice gesture. :)

 Turtles, turtles, turtles!
Great location--on the beach. (actually hooks with a walk through to the JW Marriott, we ate there too) Awesome sand and waves for the teenagers to play. Watched the sea turtles come onto our beach and lay eggs each night. Very interesting to see them put into a turtle nursery until hatching. Visited Coba Ruins and cenotes for a swim. Also a day trip to Xel-ha for a full day. Loved both. Took city bus into town to the amazing big grocery market (3 levels) also took the ferry to Isla Mujeres for the day and had $10 massages on the beach, and rented a golf cart for a fun little tour on our own. Very fun trip! Lots of sun and sand and relaxation, throw in shopping and food and it was a very successful family vacation with our boys!

 Helpful tips+honest review
Just got back today! The friendliness of the staff is what makes this hotel so incredible. Everyone is ALWAYS smiling and greeting you and offering help. #Marriott mobile appI strongly recommend you to download the app. You can check in beforehand and tell them the approximate time of your arrival so they can prepare your room (if available)Also you can request towels, amenities, robe etc etc from the app directly. No need to call housekeeping! :)I requested extra bath robes around 7pm and it came immediately. #restaurantsWe were actually quite impressed by the price and the quality of the food. We tried every single restaurant on site and they were all good. Reasonable price! (40-60$ per couple, no drinks) Omg the pizza at the gift shop is so good! We got take out everyday at the pool :) wanted another slice the day we checked out in the morning but they were serving only danishes. Which is a good thing. It means they weren't selling the left over dried pizza from the night before. #Soriana (grocery store)On the first day we asked our driver to drive us to the supermarket. (We tipped him extra 20$) He waited in the car for us. We bought breakfast items (milk, yogurt, bread) water and lots of beer. You pay the grocery store 2$ and they will deliver to the hotel so you don't have to carry all that back. #pesosChange your money at the hotel. They give you the best rate. #FlorentinoAt the check in desk was amazing❤️ hugs to you. Hope he sees this. He was so sweet and made us feel right at home. #one minus..The hotel was very clean and beautiful but the curtains in our rooms had black moldsAnd our baby kept touching it. I hope the hotel will change this soon.. Hope this review will help you!

Other Hotels are better for the price
As others have mentioned, this is an upscale very elegant property and thats all it has for it. This summer took a vacation with the family staying at different resorts in the same area and im able to compare their 5* to others.1.- their entrance is grand. The huge doors and when you walk in, it looks like a castle with high ceilings and beautiful doors.. Service from the door Man and bell boys was great as they greet you and open doors without expecting a tip.2.-Their front desk: This is where everything falls apart. Arrived at 2pm. I had called from the Hotel next door (competitor) and told them i was arriving around this time and traveling with an infant. We arrived and room was not ready. You know what it happens, after more or less 30minutes a room is given to us. While we waited, we asked for Change but the key was needed and were told to come back later. We walk all the way to where the room was and it was not the room we had reserved. Call the front desk and they say they system is down and we have to wait. In the Mean time 40+ minutes pass and we get the correct room but guess what, they did not have keys to give us and the bell boy had to come and open and close our doors every time we needed to get in or out. By my 4th trip to the front desk i finally got the keys. With keys at hand, we decided to go down and ask for change from US to Mexican Pesos. We were asked for our Passports again, i asked why if they already had our info and to check the records. So we go back up to our room as they said the manager will call us. After our last trip to the front desk now is 7pm, we had just 30 minutes with keys and 0 Mexican pesos.Decided to skip the front desk as by this point its a mute point and went to the concierge desk. Inquired about a place for children to play and they told us it was $25 or $30 for the hour. I was WTF and decided to walk over and ask myself. They told us it was free and if we wanted a Baby sitter it was paid.. By now im all fed up with the crappy service but it was late and the concierge mentioned we will get 15% off if we eat at their steak house (capilla). I said ok since by now we are tired.they give us a tour and we have an infant and we asked if we can have a piece of bread for her while we wait for our food, we were told it was $$$$ and i said for 1 slice of bread? WTF? Another waiter comes and he says its ok for us to take from the food as we are eating and they dont train the front people good enough. He was actually pretty good and honest from what we could tell. Also told us to reach out and write a review from the bad service.3.- The Hotel: its a huge hotel, lobby is big and connected to their sister hotel. The bar in the Lobby has live music and always running events but for this week in May it was empty. The pools are great, warm water and food is decent. Their service staff if great and very attentive.4.- The Staff (minus front desk and concierge team) Susanna, Ines kept our room always clean and came back over and over to make sure we had a great experience. Since we had a baby with us, they made towel animals for her.5.- The Kids Club Staff: they saved the hotel for us. They alone get 5*. Karina J, Claudia H, Judith D bent backwards to make our stay great. We spent a good chunk of time struggling with the front desk and they took it and fixed the problem for us. They even brought up the manager that according to them was not aware of all the issues we encountered. This place might be a 5 start but its a boring and full of not well trained staff. Look around for those that can help.

 Outstanding!
We enjoyed an amazing stay at Marriott Cancun Resort, formerly Casa Magna. The rooms are comfortable, beds are great, staff was amazing. Amazing views. Beautiful soft sand beach!!One of our highlights was being able to see and hold baby turtles as part of their protect and release turtle program. What an amazing trip!! Thank you!!

 Stunning short break
I was visiting Cancun for a short break (3 days) and must say i was very pleased with my holiday. The resort is very well maintained and the staff are very kind and attentive. room- bed was so conformatable, option of pillows provided, rooms are fitted with a very good air con system, i had a ocean view balcony room which was divine. Food- we ate in the brealfast buffet which as a good selection of international food for breakfast. for dinner we tried MIKADO- its a japanesse place so lovely , very interactive exp. Drinks were VERY expensive worked out £8/9 a cocktail ( but what do you expect in a resort like this?) next time if i was staying longer i would buy my own bottle as they were OK. Beach- absolute heaven , lovely sandy beach and beautiful oceanpool- NICE! Very spacious, clean and there is also a huge jaccuzzi. Service- cant complain, it was a lovely experience, they always made sure we were okay and i would defo visit again! location- taxi ride away from the strip nota problem, ppl were also getting the local bus. the only down side is its very quiet in this resort so if ou like hustle and bustle then probs not for you. thanks for a lovely stay Marriott!

We went here for a girls trip and it was AMAZING!! The water is SO BLUE, the room was your typical 2 double 1 bath but what was helpful was the removable shower head to get into those.. "hard to reach" places. Who knew where sand could end up?? But this review is honestly dedicated to PABLO!!! He was awesome, not only did he take care of us (he knows the good drinks, mango mai tai anyone??) but was helpful, funny, and kind! He was very informative of the sea turtles and went above and beyond his duties! Thanks Pablo we will definitely be returning and could not thank him enough for making our trip so special!

Great ftont beach hotel in the heart of Cancun, Mexico
Spend 5 nights in this beautiful and elegant hotel. Relaxing atmosphere , clean , nice rooms and comfortable bed . What's more important is the great customer service from the bell men to the cleaning crew. Martha, the front office manager vent above and beyond to make us happy after e misunderstanding about the $ 50 sand dolars credit that Travelocity promised at the time of booking. Because of her great customer service we'll be back for sure to this hotel , but this time I'll book it directly from the hotel website and not Travelocity. I will never use Travelocity again. Awful customer service from theyre side . They put you in hold for ever and when you get somebody they are trained to miss lead you. I allsaw wat to thank Fernando & Rodi at the front desk , Eleni in the towel section and Florentino from Isla bar. Thanks again for the great experience at the Marriott hotel Cancun. And please dont book with Travelocity. Very miss leading website .

One night stay! Loved the Breakfast Buffet
We stayed here for one night, an used their shuttle services for Airport Pick up.We were picked up on time and did not have to wait. ( we booked a private transport)The hotel is very clean and the staff very friendly, but our room was very small ( too small to fit my babies crib on my side of the bed) and dated, for a one night stay it was not too bad. The Best part for me, was the Buffet, with AMAZING selection, fresh fruit, lots of Mexican food, they even had dim-sum as I recall. The beach is beautiful at this resort. We just came back from a Hotel in Puerto Morelos and it was not a pretty sight. This resort as far as I know does not have AI, but it has European plans.Cheers

 Amazing property!
I was staying at the property for business and will be back! The views are amazing, the rooms are lovely and the staff is extremely accommodating. As a business traveler with limited "fun" time, I very much appreciated how close my room was to the pool and beach. I also loved that their wifi extended all the way to the water so that I could work by the ocean when I wanted. The food on property was also excellent. All and all the property was 10/10. I look forward to coming back for a vacation!

 Excellent Resort but poor food
The property and service was excellent and was what you expect from Marriott. Nice well furnished spacious rooms with comfortable beds and smiling and ever eager to help staff made our vacation dream come true one. However, when it comes to food, it was far bellow our expectations. The taste of dinner we ordered at Sasi Thai was pathetic and too greasy, may be we did not order right dishes. Buffet breakfast at Argentina Steakhouse did not justify Marriott brand. The spread was very limited, bacon strips were too crispy and tasted sort of burned, cut fruits served were tasteless and far bellow par. I am sure management will work to improve upon this.In spite of the food I will certainly recommend it as the place to stay in Cancun.

 Wonderful place, wonderful people
We really enjoyed our nine days at Marriott CasaMagna Resort. From the moment we arrived at the front doors we knew this was a very nice place. The doormen/bellmen made us feel at home right away. Even before we got up to the check-in counter we were met by the head of the concierge service with a pleasant greeting and two bottles of cold water. Check in was very smooth (pre-check-in using the Marriott App made it go even faster). We were pleasantly surprised to get an upgrade to an ocean view. Later when I had a question and request I went back to the front desk and Karina offered superior service. In fact every time I needed something Karina was there to help. We returned to the Marriott for our final two days of our trip and again booked the resort view and were very pleased with an upgrade to the "Caribbean Suite", a corner suite with a balcony nearly as large as the room.

 Great Resort!
My partner and I stayed here for four days. The staff were very accommodating, fast service and friendly. The pool, Jacuzzi and beach was amazing. It was a lot of fun releasing the baby turtles into the ocean. We had the breakfast buffet, lunch at Champions and dinner at the Japanese and Thai restaurants on site, and they were are really, really good! My only regret is having to leave so soon. Very nice time at the Marriott.

 Nice Stay
We had a nice stay at this hotel this past August. The rooms are nice, but our room didn't have a bathtub. The shower was nice except the whole time the water temperature in the bathroom alternated between too hot and too cold! The water was purified and we never got sick. The restaurants were good--750 Pizza great for quick grabbing food, the Argentinian restaurant had great buffets. The pool is pretty nice. The ocean is too powerful for us to swim, but the positive is they released baby turtles several nights while we were there. The kids club is great but make sure you tell them you want half day or full day rate as they will automatically charge you the higher daily rate. Gym was good and had fun doing aqua zumba. Overall, great stay!

 Great room! Pricey food.
The room was excellent. Comfy beds. Perfect view. Food was good but very pricey. We went during off peak season (end of August) and they gave us a suite for an extra $60 per night. Well worth it. We had views of the beach/ocean and of the shoreline. Not a lot of amenities for younger kids.

I can't say enough about this Marriott Cancun Resort - it is like I said above, fun - peaceful - and the people who work there are absolutely out-standing. We are already planning our next trip and taking our daughter-son-in-law and granddaughter.,More

 Upscale accomodations in Cancun Mexico
The Marriott CasaMagna. Exceptional service throughout. The breakfast buffet is 5 star. Large variety of food items. We never ate lunch while we were there because the breakfast was so filling and lasted till 11am. The service in the restaurant was over the moon. The hotel was so lovely. The room we had overlooked the ocean. The pool with swimup bar was great. Large jacuzzi....however we actually had to complain to the management about children being in the jacuzzi tub. They compensated us for this inconvenience by giving us $50 toward the steak house for dinner. That was nice but it didn't stop children from being in the jacuzzi every day after that! That was annoying to us. But I would say everything else was very nice. Located right on the beach. Gorgeous location. They serve lunch and drinks by the pool. Pool open till 11pm. Covered tiki umbrellas on the beach. Champions sports bar and grill restaurant on site. Japanese restaurant on site but we never went to it so cant tell you if good or not. The steak house was very good.

 2 for 2
I was here in March for my very first visit to Cancun. Stayed at Marriott Casa Magna, now known as Marriott Resort Cancun ( name change, but locals know it as Casa Magna ). Decided to bring my kids for summer vacation week. Weather was perfect 88 every day. The water , beach and pool are incredible. Many restaurant choices as this hotel is connected to JW Marriott and you can eat at any and charge to your room. I have been to 14 different countries in the past 7yrs. and I must say the service is top notch and the staff could not be more friendly. I had a question about some different things, activities and hotel stuff. The young lady at the front desk ( Alma ) took the time to explain in detail various options that made my decision making very easy. She was very pleasant and very helpful. This is a mid range hotel, you won't get smoked here on pool and dinner charges , very reasonable. I hope to go 3 for 3, as I plan on returning and staying here again !

Fantastic Resort, Never Left The Property
My wife & I enjoyed 3 nights here. The beach is beautiful, they have plenty of free beach chairs, and the views are incredible. The food is top notch at the resort, you have to go for the Mexican buffet at Sedona grill, major flavor! Rooms are spacious and have great views. There is no need to leave the resort or hotel zone, unless you want to party.

Not as expected from Marriott chain
I had reservation for 11 nights (long stay) and was celebrating 30 years marriage anniversary Check in : not good no explanation of anything , he asked me if celebrating anything and I told him but nothing was offered by the hotel manager or front office manager , Room not as reserved garden view was building roof view , when complained to front office manager she offered me a worse room facing wall ground floor , and I complained to my reservation agent provider and they did not do anything and beloved the hotel as the said to them that they offered me free upgrade which the female manager never did it . But lastminute.com did not believe me and beloved the hotel. Reception never smile , heads down they do not look to anyone Concierge female with glasses , I asked her if anyone ask about us we will be sitting in the lobby next to her desk , her answer was we do not do this service (find me) , is this Marriott service ! Room service very good , restaurant and breakfast food and service is very good but cutlery is old. Housekeeping and swimming pool service and food is excellent. Nothing was done from hotel side for our anniversary or as we are long stay guest

Great European Plan Option in Cancun Location
My wife and I stayed at the Marriott for 4 days in August 2017. After comparing costs at other hotel zone all inclusives I'm really glad we chose the Marriott non inclusive / European plan. I loved the flexibility, and ability to eat outside the hotel without feeling like we were losing out on something we already paid for. The rate we had came with a daily resort credit which turned out better than we expected, it was really a flat credit at the end of our stay for any food or beverage. We also received a discount for Marriott rewards membership. The hotel itself was comfortable, and well maintained. The lobby is beautiful, and although the outdoor areas are a bit dated, they still were very nice. There was a pool bar, swim up bar, and beach side bar. The rooms were also very comfortable. The restaurants at the Marriott and neighbor JW Marriott were all very good with prices comparable to similar restaurants in the US. We tried Sasi Thai, Mikado Japanese, Gustino Italian, and La Capilla Argentinian. Gustino at JW was definitely our favorite. Our server Leon went way out of his way to make it a special experience, and the food was A+ quality. The hotel has a stand for AquaWorld, (bigger tour provider in Cancun) in the pool area which we ended up booking with. They had a pkg deal for 3 activities which ended up being a great deal. The main AquaWorld complex is just across the street from the Marriott which made it very easy, no shuttles etc.All Marriott properties in Cancun have a turtle nesting program, where they help keep the eggs laid by turtles safe, then allow guest to help with the release process at night. We were there during one of the releases and it was a great unexpected surprise! During the time we were there the mother turtles also showed up on the beach at right around 9pm each night to lay eggs. Our last night we ventured up to the northern part of the hotel zone where Senor Frogs, Coco Bongo etc are and were very relieved we didn’t book in that part of the hotel zone. It reminded me a lot of Bourbon Street, Downtown Vegas, or Hollywood Blvd. Lots of street performers, people handing out cards for clubs, trying to drag you into their bar / crappy restaurant, and general sketchy behavior. The Marriott and JW are further south, on the eastern part of the hotel zone, and was very quiet and safe. There are a few higher end restaurants right across the street (CrabHouse and Fred’s) and a pizza place / gas station a little further down.Overall was a great stay with great service at a more reasonable price than many of the all inclusive hotels in Cancun.

Year After Year: Casa Magna & JW Marriott Cancun NEVER Disappoints
First of all, our first time to Casa Magna was in 1991. Loyal Platinum Elite Marriott members, about 6 years ago, we decided to come back. We've been coming back once or twice per year since. All they do is provide the best customer service anyone could ever expect. From the minute you are sent an email from the concierge team, welcoming you weeks before arrival to being greeted by the Prestige driver at the airport, to the check in process and everything right until check out, you are always made to feel valued as a customer. Special thanks to Martha and the team for upgrading us to the oceanfront room, for preparing two spectacular murals on our bed made out of colored grains if rice (I still can't figure out how they do it). Everything is above and beyond AND at an amazing price and value. The food on Property is without compare. Mikado, Sasi Thai, Gustino, La Capilla, and so many more are amazing. No "resort" food here. Every one of the restaurants are above par as if these restaurants were stand alone in any foodie city.I also want to say a special thanks to Manuela our pool server at Beachwalk. We met Manuela a few years back, she is one of the primary reasons we keep coming back. The other very important thing to mention is that we often switch between Casa Magna, JW, and Club 91 experiences. It makes us feel like we are never getting bored. Each pool is different, each Spa is different, but the hospitality and service is identical. I commend Chris Calabrese for his leadership and setting a gold standard for hospitality in the Caribbean. Not every property has the kid of staff that he has. It doesn't go unnoticed. We'll be back again. Since 1991.... still the best deal in the Caribbean

 Abosutely BLOWN AWAY
No amount of stars can suffice the quality, service, and professionalism my wife and I received on our honeymoon. CasaMagna Marriott provided excellent service since the moment we set foot until we got off the property. Everybody made us feel like we were home and especially made us feel like we were their friends and family. My utmost respect and gratitude for these amazing human beings. My wife hurt her shoulder while swimming, she was in pain so we called for an ice bag and they so willingly delivered one to us. A few minutes later a medical technician from the hotel showed up to our room and provided medication and relief. Did he have to show up? Of course not. CasaMagna went above and beyond and made sure we were ok. This was one of MANY amazing and excellent service experiences we had during our stay. A special recognition goes to: Randy at the front desk and Felipe in concierge who are just exceptional human beings, quality customer service. Another to the lovely Estela at the spa, outstanding attention, willingness, always smiling; she so willingly did a beautiful braid on my wife's hair; Elena for the greatest massage ever. The two supervisors in the spa (I didn't get their name). Anahi who made sure that our room was spotless everyday. Enrique at the Argentinian restaurant. Julio at the pool bar helped us in any way possible. Briseida who exceeded customer service followed by an exquisite cuisine at the Thai restaurant. Their is absolutely no doubt of where we are staying when we return to Cancun. We are already planning the next trip, and bringing our whole family and introducing them to our new family at CasaMagna.

 Amazing hotel, amazing service
Just returned from a 5 day trip to Cancun and we couldn't have been more impressed with this Marriott. It doesn't look like much when you drive up but it's a beautiful hotel. There are tons of resorts with themes and that look newer but we would never stay anywhere else after our experience here. The lobby is gorgeous, sparkling clean, and provides a great view of the ocean. It's located in what we thought was the perfect spot and the beach was clean, well appointed, and beautiful. Check-in was easy and they upgraded our room to a better view. The views are absolutely incredible. Room was spotless, modern yet comfortable, great bathroom and a great balcony. And the price was fantastic, we could not believe how affordable the room was for what we got! Don't get fooled into paying more for the JW, which is right next door, the CasaMagna is 5 stars and every bit as luxurious (if not more) than the JW. All interactions with the staff were above and beyond. Everyone here greets you in the friendliest manner (even the staff buffing the floors and tending to the landscape). My husband forgot his old ipad charger and they had one on hand and let us borrow it. Door staff was quick to help with taxis and even calling a restaurant we wanted to go to and reserving a table for us and letting them know we were on our way.Victor was our server every day at the pool and the service was better than a high-class steak house. On our second day, he remembered us, what we had to drink the day before, and what we had ordered. He was so friendly, had lots of great tips for our visit and on top of everything gave us the best service we have had at any restaurant. We made a point to sit where he was working after that. My husband and I are still shocked at the level of impressive service in all of Cancun but especially at a hotel pool. I hope someone from Marriott reads this and gives him some recognition because he is a hard worker and takes such pride in his job. The breakfast buffet was incredible, lots of options to choose from (fresh squeezed juice, mexican food, sushi and asian choices, oatmeal, cereal, bacon, fresh made waffles, pancakes, french toast, hashbrowns, plantains, meats and cheeses, tons of breads and pastries, chips and salsa/guac, yogurt, fruit, eggs and an omelet station). For $25 we were very happy and the bacon was delish-perfectly crispy and not the cheap kind of bacon, the good stuff. We also ate at Sasi, the thai restaurant on the property. Not only was the food amazing but the service was excellent here as well. The passion fruit martinis, fried rice, and the Saturday night Indian buffet were all excellent. The hotel has also been protecting sea turtle nests and has an event each night at 7pm where they allow hotel guests to release a baby turtle that has just hatched into the sea. It was a great experience to get to send one of the cute little babies out into the wild, I"m so happy we were here to do this. This helps them get into the water and not get eaten by birds. The hotel monitors the turtles coming ashore and moves the eggs to a safe place that is fenced off so that the nests are undisturbed and protected from beach goers. Great for kids and adults alike. Cancun has been getting some negative press lately but we never felt unsafe and more than anything we were so impressed. We tend to go to Cabo a lot but we are new found fans of Cancun and we will be back to this hotel. PS-do swim with the whale sharks if you come between May-Sept, highly recommend. We travel a lot and I travel at least 2 weeks a month and I have stayed at great places and the service here is at the very top. I always get great service at Marriott properties but the CasaMagna is above and beyond. The location was perfect, great dining choices on site or close to the property, the beach was beautiful, the pool was also very impressive, and the service was top notch. I rarely feel compelled to write reviews unless my experience was fantastic or terribly. Simply not enough time with all the places I go so for me to take the time to write a review means something. And to be this impressed, with as well traveled as I am, is a testament to this Marriott.

 Aquaworld services in hotel
Dont ever use the services of Aquaworld. Unprofessional and unethical. The hotel is fine otherwise amd is not responsible of bad services. They should still avoid letting bad companies such as Aquaworld to operate from their premises. You pay a total fee for an activity service to find out that you dont get a full refund when it is camcelled.

This is NOT about great service but much more !
Below is my review of the Marriott Cancun Resort( I'm still calling it the Casa Magna)We just got back on August 18th and I felt compeled to write about our experinece .My wife was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer at the end of 2015 and underwent major surgery. We have been going to Cancun for 28 years but had to put life on hold.. She has made remarkable recovery and we decided to go back and we just love the Casa Magna. We went for a 12 day vacation and after 5 days she started to get sick . They have an in house doctor who came to our room 10 minutes after I called He was attentive and very helpful after hearing her condition... she needed to be hospitalized. She did start to feel better in a few days Now for the my review !!The hotel staff were amazing !! The guest supervisors Adriana Pacheco & Akemi Kakimoto opened up their hearts to us and without us knowing the entire staff knew that Phyllis needed a special diet and was gluten free. Another manager,Karen Enriquez was in contact with us as soon as we got back from the hospital & made sure we had what ever we needed .Every meal at any of the 4 restaurants that we went to knew of our needs?? EVERYONE didn’t just offer great service but it was obvious that they were concerned about us and we could feel their concern! One of the waiters , Enrique Alos in particular made sure we were being taken care of & that she had gluten free bread without asking and EVERY chef at EVERY restaurant came out to insure us that they will prepare any of the dishes gluten free. Chef Gonzalo was the point person and even came out to the pool area looking for us to make sure Phyllis was still felling ok and he couldn't have been more generous and kind. He found out that we had celebrated our 51st anniversary and she was turning 73 on the 22nd and had special dishes sent to us and on our last day he said “ I have something special “ for us for lunch . The other chefs that were so kind were Juan Moldonato & Alonso Avilez, I will add some photos and a video if I can so I can end my rambling but great service is expected but treatment from the heart ??? THAT is what makes a hotel stand out from all others !! Oh.. Our room service maid, forgot her name ( room 5034) had “ happy birthday” & Happy anniversary printed out on our bed with colored rice ( see the pictures ).What ever your doing ... don’t stop !! There needs to be kindness and caring in the service business and we were cared for . To all at the Casa Magna people who just walked up to us and asked how Phyllis was feeling thank you ! To the Marriott management .. Please let them know that their kindness will never be forgotten ...What ever you’r doing don’t stop and take care of your staff !!!The casa Magna is our favorite Cancun Marriott because it has all of the Marriott offerings but in a Mexican atmosphere. The lobby is just enough "new" without giving away the feel of Mexico. We are platinum elite Marriott members because we both traveled for work over 20 years and sometimes you can't tell where you are in the world because the interior of the hotels all look the same UGGH!We enjoy the smallness of the hotel without loosing quality. Oh... it is connected to the JW Marriott rite next door and that adds 5 more quality restaurants to our dinner choices.

What makes the difference is the people who work there. Always smiling and making you feel welcomed.Emmy Cruz from the reception desk was amazing. She went an extra mile accommodating our requests. Salvador was also very helpful.Marco from the bell captain desk and Florentino from the restaurant by the pool were very friendly.Restaurants in the property were reasonable quality but pricey.A good option is the 750° deli/gift shop. Very good food, fresh coffee and good people. The pool and the beach are very good and the restaurant by the pool has good food and beverage options. The highlight was the release of baby turtles they nurse in their premises. It was an event the whole family could participate.

 Wonderful time!
First time to Cancun! Such a wonderful experience we had here at Casa Magna Marroitt Cancun resort and spa, nice environment with friendly staff, also their conservation program with the sea turtles added extra touch to this beautiful place in the Caribbean.Room was nice with ocean view and pool view, wake up every morning with the beautiful sunshine and nice ocean, such a heaven!Resort is big within meters to the beach, pool is clean and the pool bar is bonus after been in the sun. However, at times it can be packed as this is a family resort and also many timeshare as well as conferences. The only downside for me was the breakfast service felt like in the market not a 5 star property, lack of staff with only one person in the egg station with roomful of people waiting for their omelette. Also the Asian noodle was soaked in the soup for too long and ended break into pieces as soon as we picked them up. Overall, good experience for us to visit Cancun, will try JW next time!

 Wonderful Resort
First time visitors to Cancun. Casa Magna Marriott made our first visit one that we didn't want to leave. Staff at the hotel were amazing, friendly and cheerful. I really can't say enough good things about the staff! Hotel property is beautiful with a great pool and huge hot tub. Our experience was made even better by an awesome upgrade to an ocean view room. See the photos for our amazing view. The turtle experience was truly amazing and exceptional. Watching the hotel staff take such good care of the eggs that the mama turtles have laid and then in a very organized manner allowing the guests to release the baby turtles was a once in a lifetime experience.Thank you to everyone at the Casa Magna Marriott for a wonderful stay, we will be back and will definitely stay at this property again!
