 Not Your Normal Resort Restaurant
The restaurant is beautiful! The ceilings must be 30 foot high in the middle and the ceilings appears to be stained glass. Gorgeous."The portion sizes are normal size - not American size." - according to my wife. We thought the portion sizes were just right.I liked the seafood appetizer, which included octopus. My family enjoyed the lasagna, which was very meaty.

Great way to end the day at Moon Palace Sunrise, super Italian food, great pianist and first Class service.

The food was excellent here - loved finishing it off with Mayan Coffee lit on fire! Gorgeous! And of course the meal only came to perfection when the pianist Bella Duka arrived and played so wonderfully for us! I bought his CD!

This is a buffet but these guys will make what ever you wanthad omelette from station .. but fancied a waffle at the end ...none on buffet , ask the waiter .. he went to the kitchen and had the chef whip some up ... fabulous service

The short ribs were literally out of this world. I would go again for that alone!! The whole experience was very enjoyable

 The Man The Myth The Legend- Bela Duka
We loved "La Gondola" it was our absolute favorite restaurant. With the best waiter in the entire resort "Jose Romano" made our time incredibly enjoyable, and connected extremely well to all members of our family. The woman busting our table "Saini" was fantastic as well, and was very attentive to whenever something needed to be taken away or brought over. The best part of La Gondola was the man "Bela Duka" himself. He is a magician, a legend, and a genius. I have never seen a man with such talent as Bela. He is the pianist but he was our favorite entertainer of the whole trip. He played songs solely of listening to them for the first time! I held my phone in his ear and played a song he'd never heard before, and he played it to perfection. Remarkable. The food was phenomenal, but don't get the Duck Ravioli, it was not great. The lamb shank was one of the best pieces of meat I've had. To finish with the fiery dessert was a great bonus touch. I loved it here.

The Gondola is my favorite restaurant for the beautiful stain glass ceiling. I always enjoy eating in this beautiful restaurant. Some mornings it is open for a breakfast buffet. The buffet has a nice selection of food to chose from.At night this is a Italian restaurant. The menu has lots of nice dishes to order from. I recommend the Gondola.

It's been interesting to see the evolution of this place since we started coming to Moon Palace almost 20 years ago. The food is still good, and I'm glad they kept the beautiful stained glass ceiling when they remodeled.

Unique menu. I tried cocoa pasta with lemon caper sauce and chicken. It was delightful. Ceasar salad was different, very culinary presentation.

We had breakfast here several times during our stay at The Moon Palace. Always looked fantastic. No end of variety. Hot food, freshly cooked whilst you watch, fresh fruit in abundance, cold plated food, cereals, yoghurt and much more. Everything always bright colourful and tasted as good as it looked.

We had a scrumptious dinner at the Gondola last night... every detail was met! The tablescape was beautiful the food was perfection and the best part was seeing our favorite waiter Juan. He treats everyone like royalty please be sure to ask for him is you eat there! It is the best Italian in Cancun! I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Elizabeth Lara in the spa she does an incredible Hot Stone Massage!

We visited The Gondola twice during our 2 week stay and both times the food and service were excellent but special mention must be made of the piano playing by Bela, who does his own arrangements of popular and classical music and plays without any written sheet music. Excellent.

Just a really combatable relaxing visit to La gondola we ate here a couple of evenings we also went here for a brilliant buffet breakfast, great service and great people

The waiters are always very accommodating . If it's possible to meet a special request they will. The dining room is impeccable and the display is always artistic. It makes you want enjoy the cuisines continuously. Be ready to put on a few pounds!

Great dishes & good variety. No pizzas!! We loved everything we had especially the cacrpacio of beef, lasagna & the mayan coffee!!

Dinner was excellent. Service was superb. Our son fell asleep during dinner and the thoughtful staff pulled 2 chairs together and made him a bed so we could finish our dinner!

went for 2 weeks to moon palace and this was definitely a better choice for breakfast and lunch buffet than the main buffet as it was quieter and better service. the food options are nice and plenty of fresh juices to choose from. fresh omlettes made to order. the al a carte serves pasta dishes only and were quite average.

Great food and our chef was very talented, service was VERY slow and disjointed, spoiled what should have been a great meal

A good place for breakfast and late night meals inside the Sunrise Moon Palace. The variety was excellent with choice Mexican. Italian dishes, fresh tropical fruits, and delightful pastries and fruit drinks. I recommend any seafood (fish, shrimps,) because usually it's the catch of the day. You can also have the chef prepare you some fresh meats off the grill. I also recommend the Italian red wines on their list.

We ate here over our two weeks on occasions for breakfast, lunch and dinnerLet me start by saying the staff here are great - particularly the two Joses on dinner service (one is from Mexico and the other is Cuban)We thought the breakfast buffet at Gondola is the best at sunrise and second only to Manglar at Nizuk Lunch buffet was also of a good standardAla carte, as with many All Inclusive hotels we find, was a bit hot and miss but still enjoyable enough as a change

It's a nice buffet and has more healthier, gluten free choices and a larger variety of fruit overall. It has the same things everyday but I find the quality slightly fresher than Bugambilias. It also has better service. This was our favorite breakfast buffet but it was really crowded and had long lines. Just be prepared for that when you go there.

I was with 3 different couples and none of us loved the food. Was ok. Gnocci was not great, veal was very salty, soup was really good.

Went there for breakfast buffet. Not nearly as good as the buffet at the Grand. Service was poor and the line layout is aweful leading to big backlogs.

 The seating is terrible and they take no reservations
We got here to try and get a table , since the restaurants at palace are always full and at most you can't make a reservation. There was 2 of us in a party at six and we asked for a table while the others came down. We were told everyone has to be here to be seated. This is terrible! I am very disappointed with Moon Palace.

This was the worst restaurant food I have ever had. The Caesar salad was made with iceberg lettuce and was positively swimming in non-descript salad dressing. The tomato soup was out of a can. The Salmon Ravioli was undercooked. My friend's risotto was undercooked as well. I do not believe that an Italian chef has been anywhere near this restaurant in a long time! There are other places to eat at Moon Palace. Avoid this one.
