 perfect last night in Cancun
The moment our family of four (two teenaged daughters) entered this initmate, lovely restaurant we knew we made the right decision. We were welcomed as if we were guests at a friend's home. Chef Salavador Barra and the wait staff could not have done more to make us feel comfortable and appreciated. The food is on par with any five-star restaurant around the world. Prepared with extreme skill and care, and beautifully presented, all was delicious in Les Cepages' peaceful, relaxed atmosphere. If staying in the Hotel Zone, make the easy drive to downtown Cancun for this experience. Really, really wonderful.

 Return visit to les cepages
We really like many of the restaurants in the hotel zone, so do not often venture away from it during our visits to Cancun. However, we will make an exception and take a 45 minute cab ride downtown to Les CEPAGES for a special occasion. Last night we celebrated our anniversary there. It was wonderful as always. The chef is so personable and goes out of his way to make sure we are satisfied. We ordered the Brie salad which is worth the trip alone. My husband had the the three cheeses soufflé, it was fabulous and I finished what he did not eat. The French bread is the best "hands down" of any I have ever had. Nice complimentary appetizer, a fig wrapped in prosciutto with a wonderful balsamic reduction. I enjoyed the house Malbec which paired nicely with the beef filet in an awesome peppercorn/mushroom sauce. The chef is a trained pastry chef and we would loved to have had dessert, but no appetite left after the appetizers, salads soufflé and main couse. Will come again next time for dessert. Ambiance is pleasant, small, quiet with great relaxing music. All in all, a great evening at one of our very favorite restaurants in Cancun.

 Another perfect lunch
A daytime lunch with a friend I had a delicious coliflower cream soup with gruyere cheese and my friend cold veal with herbs and a touch of balsamic vinegar. A really good wine list.

 Wonderful Dining Esperience!
We were three couples on vacation from New York City and were so impressed by our dinner. Chef Sal welcomed us to his fine restaurant and described the offerings on his menu. Some of us began with the delicious escargot, others had the veal which melted in their mouths, and then there was the portobello mushroom app with goat cheese....another tasty dish. Our entrees consisted of the rack of lamb, duck, and the catch of the day. Needless to say, the sauces were perfect...just enough to enhance the flavors. Then came desserts....strawberry napoleon and opera cake. The perfect way to end a pretty perfect meal! Kudos to Chef Sal and his staff. We look forward to the next time! Barbara

 Yearly "must" !
If you consider yourself a 'foodie', trying and enjoying the best gastronomic experiences, then visiting Les Cespages is a " must"! We discovered this gem of a restaurant last year and have just had the pleasure of dining there again. Chef Luna does everything right..greets patrons at the door, trains his staff to meet high standards and, best of all, prepares exquisite cuisine. Easily, THE best we've tried in Cancun!

 Birthday dinner
We have had two meals this month at Les Cepages. Chef Sal is so lovely. The food is amazing. Last night we had a party of 7persons and we all tried each other's dinners and every dish was amazing. Thank you chef Sal for another amazing night.

 France in Cancun!
What a fantastic dinner! Chef Salvador Luna not only came out to check on the progression of our meal but ended the evening presenting us a chocolate souffle dessert to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We enjoyed a wine pairing with all of our courses and were not disappointed.

 Wonderful!
The food, the atmosphere, service and Chef Sal deserve a 5 star review. The food is outstanding, the presentation beautiful. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. This was our third time there and we will always go back whenever we're in Cancun! Thanks Chef Sal!

Beautiful restaurant, superb food, excellent service
An outstanding restaurant in downtown Cancún! Service, flavors, and atmosphere were truly exceptional. I asked the chef for his favorite dishes, and he suggested the duck with fig sauce as a main with the brie salad as an appetizer. Both were excellent, as was the salmon app and roasted artichoke with couscous. Highly recommended!

 Excellent Restaurant in every respect
We had a wonderful experience in Les Cepages. The food was outstanding and was beautifully presented. The chef personally came out to welcome us and provided us with suggestions, and a sample of shrimp with balsamic reduction. The cream of mushroom soup is the best we have ever had. We would definitely visit this restaurant again on our next trip to Cancun.

 Wonderful French food
My wife and I went to Les Cepages one night on our annual (29 years) trip to Cancun. This was a new one for us and we had not heard of it before. What a wonderful find. This is an intimate restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating although the outdoor overlooks a busy parking lot. The interior is contemporary elegant European. We were there on a rainy night so it wasn't too busy. The chef/owner Salvador Luna Barra, who was classically trained at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, personally greeted us. While we were reviewing the menu he provided us with a complimentary flute of good champagne and an appetizer on watermelon with balsamic vinegar that was fantastic. We started with one of the best salad I have ever eaten. It was the mixed greens with carmelized apples and Brie. We shared it and still left a third of it because we were concerned we wouldn't be able to eat our dinner if we continued. My wife had the rack of lamb and I glad the hagfish (the season for hogfish was just starting in Cancun). Hagfish is a great firm white fish without a fishy taste. Both dinners were as good as any we have had anywhere in the world - and we have been to more than 25 countries. When they were out of my first preference for wine Chef Barra recommended a dry French rose that went exceptionally well with both dishes. For dessert we shared the pears. This is a romantic place. The one caveat is that the bathrooms are upstairs so if you have mobility issues that could be a concern. Our entire bill before tip was $80 US, an amazing deal.

One of the best in Cancun
We dined at Les Cepages on one of our last nights in Cancun and it was undeniably one of the best meals of our trip. The restaurant is modern and charming. We were greeted by Chef Luna, who spoke with us a couple of times during our meal. The wait staff was very professional and kept our water glasses filled. I noticed that we only had one of the specialties mentioned on their website after dining there (how I wish we had looked beforehand!) but I can't imagine that the meal could have been better! The brie salad with gala apples was creamy and luscious with a nice portion of greens. I chose the fish of the day served traditionally with mango salsa - fresh and delicious. The fish was perfectly cooked. Everyone had dessert, not because we had room left, but because we couldn't wait to see how great they would be. The chocolate souffle was very nice. The only disappointment for me was the tarte tatin. The apple in my salad was so great that I hoped for the same thing in my dessert. It was also tasty but seemed over done and a little mealy. But I should have known better as I've never liked that dessert anywhere else. The quiet little restaurant was very clean and well lit! So often we can barely see our meal, how refreshing was that! And the ambiance was lovely.

Unquestionably the best restaurant in Cancun!
Fantastic! We went there twice over two weeks it was so good and it's a place we'll go back to every year. Can't say enough good things about it. Chef is very personable interacts with guests intimately going over the menu (and even offering things that aren't on the menu). Ask for the seared foie gras (not on the menu) with figs...it's out of this world and rates in the top 2 I've had in the world. The depth of flavours & textures is incredible. This Chef is Cordon Blue trained and also was mentored by a Master Chef in France...and it shows. This is what great good should be. Reasonable prices as well.Real value for your money.

Best Restaurant in Cancun by far.
I researched different restaurants before our trip since we were staying at a condo in the hotel zone. Les Cepages really caught my interest, mostly due to the amazing reviews. I emailed the restaurant to inquire about how to get there from the hotel zone and Chef Sal emailed me back with detailed directions. It was a bus ride from the hotel zone but if you take the right bus, it's direct and boy is it worth it. The atmosphere is lovely with contemporary decor with soft dinner music playing in the background. It couldn't have been nicer. The food took a dining experience to a whole higher level, Chef Sal is highly trained. Great attention to every detail is evident in every single dish presented, in presentation, taste and perfection. His staff is also very professional. You get the feel that you are dining in France in an intimate high end restaurant without the high end prices. This will be on our favorite restaurant list forever. We will be back in September 2017 and cannot wait to dine there again, hopefully more than once for our next trip. Make a reservation so you don't miss out since it is not a huge place but it should be a must on everyone's list when visiting Cancun. In the past we have stayed at 4 star all inclusives and this time we wanted to try the different restaurants and we did, Les Capages was our favorite. If you take a bus there negotiate a cab fare back so you don't spoil the mood from the exquisite meal.

Remains at the top of our list...
We vacation in Cancun annually and always return to Les Cepages. Chef Sal truly has a love affair with food. He creates dishes that are exceptionally beautiful as well as delicious so that you eat with your eyes first. He remembers us each year and goes out of his way to create dishes for my food allergies that no other chef takes the effort to do. The restaurant is in a downtown neighborhood and is quite beautiful. Be sure to ask for Chef Sal to describe his dishes. This is not an overpriced, overhyped hotel zone restaurant. You will not be disappointed.

Worth the cab ride and more!!
We just returned from Les Cepages and a wonderful dinner. The staff was friendly and the food was amazing. The carrot soup with goat cheese was terrific. My husband and I had the magret of duck with fig and it was delicious. The veal shank was tender and tasty. The desserts were decadent and yummy. It is a bit out of the way but worth the trip.

Salvadore runs one great operation. The food, intimate space all add up to a excellent evening of fine dining. Our first visit, will not be our last, was simply outstanding.  Truly Special Restaurant
This was our second time to Les Cepages. We were so taken by it the first time, we knew when we booked our Christmas trip to Cancun, we had to go back. Chef Sal and his staff are warm and inviting. The décor is simple and elegant. But it's the food that we come for. The Chef never ceases to amaze us: the food is consistently 5 star. I wish I didn't have to tell anyone about Les Cepages as I'd like to keep it as 'my own' but everyone should have at least one meal here while in the area. You will not be disappointed!

Best there is in Cancun for fine dining
It always amazes me how this restaurant never seems that busy even in peak holiday season. It remains a semi- discovered jewel, tucked away in an unremarkable but accessible location in Plaza Nichupte, close to downtown. It has a discreet refined atmosphere- just a few select tables. This is no tourist trap, an accusation that might be levelled at one or two other establishments lining more prominent locations, like Bonampak Avenue.Chef Salvador is straight from the school of proud restaurant Owner/operators, paying close attention to every step of the dining experience, from arrival to departure. On its own, the presentation of the dishes would receive an outstanding rating, but that would be a disservice to the flavours of his French style cuisine, comprising fresh ingredients with flavoursome sauces. Dishes are found here like nowhere else, such as the roast quail with cranberry and cassis and it is the place to come in Cancun for Chefs true métier- soufflés, including the delectable three cheese savoury and the chocolate soufflé dessert (one family member loved it so much, she ordered a second). It may be a little tricky to find, but this place is a MUST to visit. We will be back...

 Great Spot
Les Cepages is a little hard to find from the Hotel Zone but it is worth the effort. My GPS has it on the wrong side of the street but, having been there last year, I was ok. The chef was also our waiter and he was most helpful. The salad was magnificent. I then had the sliced duck in fig sauce and I savored every bite. My wife had filet mignon and it was done perfectly but it was a little chewy - I will blame that on the cow. Service was excellent and the chef/owner/waiter is friendly and very helpful. So, when going from the Hotel Zone, remember that the restaurant is in a little shopping center on the south side of Nickuple. The GPS will tell you that " you have reached your destination" but you need to make a u turn and pull into the mall parking lot.

We have been coming to Cancun for over 20 years and usually frequent the same list of restaurants. This week, we branched out and tried Les Cepages for the first time.Wow! Fantastic. We had the tasting menu with wine pairing. The wine was just ok but the food was phenomenal. The presentation, timing, aroma and taste were like a one-night trip to Paris.Compliments to Chef Sal for a great evening!

 Nothing better in Cancun
Every time I visit Cancun I go to this place and every time I'm delighted with it's food and service. This time it was completely off the charts!!! I had a scallops salad with mango dressing and escargot ravioli and I was completely astonished, absolutely amazing. There is nothing like this in Cancun.

 Incredible
We had a wonderful experience- The Chef and server were absolutely terrific. The server was so knowledgeable, and passionate about food and wine. My family of four all did the Full food tasting and my husband and I did the wine pairings. It was delicious. The food was fresh, uniquely prepared and artistically presented. It was a great value for about $70 US for the Full menu. I would definitely not miss eating here every time I come to Cancun

 Spectacular!
The menu had so many entrees we wanted to try that we decided to do the price fixed menu with wine. It was unbelievable. The meal started with an amuse bouche of watermelon, mint and balsamic reduction. The first course was seared tuna, orange, mixed greens and a light vinaigrette. The second course was foie gras, marmalade, toast crisps and mixed greens. The third course was scallops topped with caviar and a root purée. The fourth course was filet mignon perfectly rare with potatoes and Demi glacé. The dessert course was an ice cream (maybe green tea) with a raspberry, fresh cream "sandwich". Honestly, I am not sure what course was my favorite. They were all perfectly executed and presented. The accompanying wines were perfect. We met the owner & chef Sal and his wife who were both so gracious. We will definitely be back again.

 Nothing Compares!
Nothing in Cancun compares to this excellent restaurant with its unbelievably delicious offerings and personal attention, both from Chef Sal and waiter Eduardo. Well worth the extra effort to taxi downtown, it brought us back three times in a one-week stay. We loved the tuna tartare, cream of carrot soup, and fresh snapper.

This restaurant is exceptional. The food and service were excellent. Chef Sal met us at the door and discussed the menu. The French onion soup was superb....best I have ever tasted. Presentation of the food is special with a wide selection of wines. It is a pleasurable evening and in fact we enjoyed it so much we returned the next night for a whole new selection of food. We were not disappointed.

 Great night and fabulous food
Chef Sal never disappoints. We had a lovely evening eating Chef Sal's lovely dishes. We had starter, entire and desserts which we shared but could not say no. We enjoyed the whole evening. This is a place we enjoy for all our special occasions and with friends visiting from out of town.

 Fantastic find!

 Amazing
The food was fresh and cooked to perfection. The service was great. The prices were reasonable. The selection of wine was limited but still ok. I had the escargot ravioli. They were great. It's a romantic scene.

During our annual visit to Cancun a couple of years ago, we wanted to try a new restaurant, we decided to go to Les Cepages, and have been going for a exceptional experience for the past three years. Chef Sal is very personable. The food is always fresh and the menu has wonderful selections. You will leave this restaurant satisfied, and will talk about it the rest of your trip.  Great & Amazing Food!
We discovered Les Cespages a few years back and quite honestly, we plan a long weekend to Cancun just to make sure we can visit here. We were in Cancun for four nights and had dinner at Les Cespages twice. Chef Sal is an amazing chef (and also extremely nice) - my wife had a veal loin appetizer that may have been the best thing Ive tasted in the past year. And everything else we had was also delicious! We have traveled extensively around the globe and we have had the good fortune to eat at some of the highest rated restaurants, but Les Cespages is one restaurant I will go out of my way to visit. The restaurant is just a little out of the way, but DO NOT MISS this place. It's the best restaurant in Cancun, hands down!

Quaint yet elegant atmosphere. Small place with limited seating. Personal attention from Chef Sal himself from the time we were seated until we left.... wow - this was such a treat! He went through the menu including the specials of the day. Everything sounds good, looks good, smells good, tastes great! There is a bit of waiting because everything is prepared fresh. To dine at this restaurant is an experience not to be rushed. The service, food, and value are all excellent!

 Best in Cancun
Having vacationed in Cancun for twenty years we have been to many many restaurants including most which are frequently recommended on Tripadvisor.Les Cespages exceeds them all!We visited recently on a quiet Monday night so had the almost undivided attention of our extremely professional, yet friendly, waiter. In addition the chef personally greeted us to explain the specials of the day. While I chose the catch of the day, my husband opted for one of the signature dishes of Cespages, the rack of lamb. Both were amazing! A lovely bottle of wine and a chocolate soufflé dessert completed the meal. The flavor of each dish was delicious with delicate nuances of seasoning and the presentation of each, an artful composition. Our vacation is short but we hope to return for a second visit before we Cancun!

For fine dining this is the place to go in Cancun
Les Cepages offers all the things one thinks of when considering fine dining in New York, France, Toronto or San Francisco. You will be welcomed by the Chef and owner Sal who will seat you at a table set the way it should. Crisp white linen, sparkling wine glasses, fresh flowers. Expect to take 10 minutes pondering the menu which is full of unique choices which promise interesting flavors. Sal will answer all your questions and attend to any special needs. I can not list all of the outstanding dishes but must say the Fois Gras is the best I have every had anywhere. The flare provided with the fish in several interesting ways is exquisite. The cheese souffle is perfection as is the chocolate one for desert.Plan on spending 2 to 3 hours enjoying this experience and you will be shocked by the value at the end of the day.

Les Cepages Restaurant is in the ranks of the best French restaurants in NYC
We had one night in Cancun and chose this restaurant on the advice of Trip Advisor. It was the best dinner we had on our 10 day trip through the Yucatan peninsula. We are foodies and decided to try this French restaurant near our hotel close to the ADO bus terminal where we were heading for Merida the next day. The restaurant has about 8 tables and is charming. Salvatore, the owner and chef, greeted us as if we were friends. He made several recommendations. I search for the best "tuna tartare" and this was the best. Tuna tartare with shallots, Dijon mustard, garlic oil, sesame oil, capers, parsley and ginger was truly divine. My husband and I both had the Robalo fish, a Caribbean fish with seared citrus sauce, jasmine rice and grapefruit. The combination was exquisite. For dessert, we shared the apple tart which was delicious and beautifully presented. The wine list was excellent and fairly priced. What a treat! There were two men from France who were also dining and felt that this restaurant would hold a candle to any restaurant in France. They adored the Canard.. Kudos to the chef!

Enjoyed many of the recommended Cancun restaurants including The Grill Room and Fantino at the Ritz, Peter's and La Dolce Vita. Le Cepages topped them all. The chef personally reviewed the menu with us and accommodated all of our dietary needs. The fresh from the sea hogfish the chef selected that evening was a delight.Enjoyed the presentations and the complexity of the various dishes. The value of the culinary experience for the price was exceptional. We plan on returning tomorrow

This out of the way, small restaurant is a gem. The ambiance is calm and inviting, the service attentive and helpful and the food is equaled in presentation and taste. Portions are more than adequate but do not leave you feeling like you need a nap. Homemade crescent rolls are delicious. The boquinette was superb and the chocolate dessert with ice cream was to die for. This is on my calendar for each annual visit to Cancun.

 perfect last night in Cancun

Barbara

Beautiful restaurant, superb food, excellent service
An outstanding restaurant in downtown Cancún! Service, flavors, and atmosphere were truly exceptional. Both were excellent, as was the salmon app and roasted artichoke with couscous. Highly recommended!
