What can I say? Whenever we are at the Moon Palace (which we have been there more than 50 weeks) it's a MUST to visit Los Caporales in the Nizuc section. From the moment we arrive, Edwardo Zamodio, the Manager, welcomes us with "open arms" with a hug for me and a hug & kiss for Jodi.The atmosphere is so pleasant and warm. Edwardo won't let me order an appetizer as he always wants to have something wonderful prepared just for us and it's always fantastic. Anything from grilled salmon to shrimp stir-fried in tequila.our waiter, Mateo and his partner, Yesenia make sure that everything from drinks to chips to salsa are constantly refilled. He prepares the guacamole at table side and it is the best on the entire Moon Palace complex.Israel, the chef does an exquisite job of preparation and , of course, presentation. At the conclusion of our dinner, Mateo put on a great show for us in the table side preparation of bananas foster with a side of ice cream. What else can I say about the fantastic restaurant and staff that can't seem to do enough for us. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO BE PAMPERED!

 Brazillian steak house with excellent food and atmosphere
recommend reservations. This is a Brazilian style steak hous but has other offerings like full salad bar. Steaks were quite flavorfull. A little overcooked with some of the meat cuts. You can not go wrong eating here.

 Great Time
We had supper here last night. The food and service was wonderful. Our waiters were Manuel, Alex, Yunuen, and Jenife. They worked so hard To look after every little thing! Our hostess Miita and Manager Giancarlo Geovani did a great job coordinating things and leading their team. Chef Herman and husbteam produced tasty and beautiful plates of food. Wonderful evening!

Our waiters Cornelio and Yunven were amazing. Cornelio made such an impression on us with our first meal while staying at moon palace that we had to go back again. He knew it was our honeymoon and suggested that we let him make us a dish that wasn't on the menu and he did not disappoint. We had a wonderful dinner experience from the time we walked in and were sat in Mateo's area until the time we left. He and Froylan were very attentive and friendly and at the end of our meal Mateo asked if he could make us a special dessert. It was a lovely presentation of flaming bananas and ice cream. He really made us feel special!

From the cocktails to the meals we could not fault this place and another restaurant in the Nizuc section that we visited several times due to not being able to dine at The Grand (our location) due to the overcrowding and 2-3hr waiting times, on all the occasions we dined at Los Caporales we just walked straight in.

Mateo Froylien was our waiter and just might have been the best waiter I have had at any restaurant I've ever been to. He accommodated for our large group of 15 people and pulled out all the stops. He made us a special dessert and had a big smile the whole night. This place is a must if you are staying at the moon palace.

We had our last night here at the Mexican in nizcu where we are staying they made us feel extra special the service was 10/10. Waiters Luis and Manuel were fantastic and super friendly.  One of the best restaurants within all of the Moon Palace Cancun reaorts
One of the best parts of Mexico is its cuisine. Sadly not many resorts have good - authentic food on them. However this gem at Nizuc was everything you look for when you crave good Mexican foods. Table side guacamole was so delicious and take your waiters recommendations into consideration! He pointed us to a chicken enchilada not on the menu, and is was fabulous. I also had the poblano and it was excellent. Definitely worth the go.. this ended up being our favorite restaurant on property after a 6-day stay. Don't snort yourself on that mojito either!! Made perfectly!!

I traveled with my family, my daughter is allergic to aged cheese, Rafael the waiter let Edzna (waiter captain) know about it and she approached to the table to let us know that Fernando/Valentino the chef will cooked her food separate to avoid cross contamination, during our stay she was aware of it and she was taking care of everything. Their service was OUTSTANDING, friendly and caring. Thank you Edzna you made our staying very pleasant.

 Absolutely 1st class service and staff
We went for a family meal last night in this restaurant and were instantly greeted by marisol & mariflor 2 lovely young ladies who introduced us to our waiter Cornelio and his partner Jesenia they took my family and myself to our table where we were handed the menus whilst our glasses were filled with water. As we were browsing the menu cornelio asked us what we would like to drink with our meals and Jesenia brought a cart up to the table and asked us if we like some guacamole to which we replied yes our lads were absolutely astonished to see the guacamole made from fresh in front of there eyes a fantastic show. We all chose from the menu a entree and a main meal myself I chose the cerviché which the chef Israel prepared for me using the finest fresh shrimp,octopus,squid etc absolutely beautiful and a more than generous portion. I also asked if it would be possible to have fajitas as the were not on the menu Cornelio said that it wouldn't be a problem my wife then decided she would have the same our sons asked for the steak and honey pork once again amazing portion sizes and the 2 waiters kept the drinks flowing while we were eating. Afterwards the finished plates and cutlery was removed from the table and we were got talking to Cornelio about working in the moon palace and the excitement in his face and voice we could clearly see and hear just how proud he was of his position to be fair both my wife and myself were quite touched by this but then unsurprisingly to ourselves he then asked us if he could do something special for us as a family for a special dessert obviously we were so grateful and off he went around 5 minutes later he returned with a trolley holding a small stove some banana and alcohol. Then he started a show of cooking infront of us 1st some sugar followed by bananas then he added one measure of the 1st bottle of alcohol to which he lit the fumes then once the bananas had flambayed he added some brandy and made a sauce,after the cooking had finished he plated it up for us added some ice cream and drizzled the sauce over it all well we were absolutely blown away from the table service we received. We believe that the manager of this restaurant is called Rodolfo and we would hope that you read this review and we thank you and your amazing talented staff all the very best they are an absolute credit to this eatery.

We have just returned from a 2 week stay at Moon Palace Nizuc section. We were initially not sure about going to the Mexican restaurant as felt that we may not have liked the food. When we entered the first time I was greeted by Eduardo. We were a party of 12 with a mix of adults and children. We had visited a few other restaurants on the resorts and had been disappointed that several items were not available from the menu even though we ate at 6pm. Eduardo assured me all menu items were available and quickly found us a table for 12. The service was amazing and the food also. Due to this we decided to go back to Los Caporales for a second time. We were again greeted by Eduardo and again he was professional and found us a table quickly. He kept checking back that everything was okay.Our waiter Julio was amazing. he made sure we knew what all items were on the menu and treated us to a dessert show making us a special dessert at the end.We had previously been given tuna & potato balls on the first visit as a table item, we requested these again as they were delicious and Israel our chef made these especially for us. In addition he sent over sea food platters for us to enjoy and the salmon was the nicest I have ever tasted.I cannot recommend this restaurant enough for the service and food. If you visit Moon Palace any section please make sure you pay Eduardo and his team a visit. Big thanks to Eduardo, Julio, Marisol and Israel you are a credit to your employer.

WE LOVE THIS RESTAURANT! It is our favorite restaurant in the whole hotel the service is excellent. We got to know some amazing staff members from here that really made this trip amazing. These staff members include Mateo, Aaron, Froylan, Stephanie, and Leticiya. They are so kind and they provide excellent service. Personally, I think they deserve everything because of all the hard work they put in.Truly a one of a kind experience. LOVE IT!!!!!

I have to say my experiences at the Los Caporales at Nizuc were exceptional. There weren't vegan options on the menu and when our waiters Eduardo and Maria were told they immediately spoke to the chef. The chef, Israel Hernandez, actually came to our table and introduced himself to our group. He then asked me a few questions about my diet and what I liked. The first time we went he prepared me a stuffed poblano pepper with veggies and a special salad. The flavors of the peppers and veggies were exquisite. We all loved the food so much we went back a second time. Again, Chef Israel came to our table and this time he prepared me a fruit salad with watermelon infused with Anise. Then he also made me a black bean soup with the most impressionable presentation. He came to our table and himself poured the soup from a small teapot into the bowl that had fresh baked tortillas chips and fresh avocado in it. This kept the chips crispy and the avocado fresh. It was incredibly delicious! For my main course he prepared me carrot flautas! They were delicious! I have to say Los Caporales restaurant out did themselves to make sure this vegan had an amazing meal with the rest of my group. Thank you to our servers, Eduardo and Maria, the hostesses, Maria and Marisol, the capitan, Eduardo Z and a special thank you and until the next visit to Chef Israel Hernandez! I will be back!

This is yet another great place at Moon Palace. Make sure you order the Mayan Coffee for desert if you want a show. Treat these all inclusives like a cruise ship. If you think you want to appetizers then order two. If you want two salads order two.

I have to say Los Caporales restaurant out did themselves to make sure this vegan had an amazing meal with the rest of my group. This is yet another great place at Moon Palace. Make sure you order the Mayan Coffee for desert if you want a show. Treat these all inclusives like a cruise ship. If you think you want to appetizers then order two. If you want two salads order two.

A must if you are staying at the Moon Palace. The food is fantastic and the service is even better. I had the shef,s mother special chese fill meatballs awsome! They made us guacamole at our table which was great as I love the stuff. They brought us flavored waters on a tester tray and we both selected one for our dinner. They have other traditional Mexican items you can have that are not on the menu so if you don't see it ask they most likely get it made for you (this is a well kept secret). This is the oldest and best reseraunts in the Moon Palace Cancun complex so don't miss out you will be sad.

After having a good meal earlier in the week off the menu at Los Caporales we mentioned to the manager Edwardo Zamudio that we really liked the food and would like to try more authentic Mexican cuisine. He asked us to come back in a few days and he would put together a meal that would represent some of the best standards in Mexican cooking. We did and it was fantastic! From the great service from the hostess Mari Flor and waiter Egidio Felipe to the elevated standards from Chef Israel Hernandez. Edwardo orchestrated an incredible five course dining experience. I cannot thank them enough for sharing their incredible talents and culture.

While my wife and I and eight friends stayed at Moon Palace Sunrise, we dined at Los Caporales at Moon Palace Nizuc. It was a very enjoyable evening. The service was very good. The food was very well prepared and it was great to enjoy a wide range of authentic dishes and preparations. All in our party were very satisfied with the Mexican cocktails, guacamole, and entres. We recommend this restaurant highly to anyone staying at Moon Palace or other Palace properties in Cancun. Enjoy!

I just wanted to say that this restaurant was amazing. Our waiter Mateo and Froylan were so accommodating and made our dinning experience delicious. Also, Chef Israel Hernandez and Manager Eduardo Zamudo are terrific. Eduardo ran a wine tasting a group of us attended at the hotel and it was such an awesome experience. We have been to Moon Palace six other times and always go to Los Caporales. The service is superb and the specialty margaritas are always good. The chile rellanos is also excellent. However the tacos are just as good at Los Tacos which is a much more subdued location open all day.

We have been to Moon Palace six other times and always go to Los Caporales. The service is superb and the specialty margaritas are always good. The chile rellanos is also excellent. However the tacos are just as good at Los Tacos which is a much more subdued location open all day.

 Excellent service can't save the kitchen
I was really looking forward to an authentic Mexican dining experience and until the food arrived from the kitchen I was certain this was it. But a funny thing happened after some incredibly tasty margarita's, Mexican salsa and the BEST made at your table guacamole. The appetizers began to arrive and the first salad offerings were met with some mixed reviews, the jicama salad was barely touched by three in our party and the comments were all about the lack of taste in the dish. Then other appetizers arrived including a cheese fondue with beef rind that was essentially a bowl of melted cheese that harden to a taffy consistency within a minute of arriving. This dish to suffered from a lack of flavour with some in our party mixing it with the delicious salsa and guacamole in an attempt to boost to season the dish. By the time our mains arrived we had no expectations. The lamb rack was BBQ 'd perfectly but the lumpy cocoa sauce drizzled over top of it stole away from the flavour of the meat and the mashed plantains. Others had the tuna main which was well received. The chicken mole by one in our party was barely touched. The fish tacos were nice and fresh but the sauce really over powered the breaded crispness and made it soggy. All in all, inspite of excellent service and the above mentioned spirits, salsa and guacamole, the experience was a let down for our entire group.
