 Superb.
I wish I could remember what we ate here. But every single thing we put in our mouths was so delicious and imaginative........the evening was a total blur of heaven. My only regret is not eating there 2 or 3 times more.

Could aspire to a Michelin star!
Very high level and quality on the total restaurant experience. The relatively new, young and ambitious chef earlier worked at what has for several years been recognized as the world's best restaurant (Noma, Copenhagen). I do not need to explain more, go there to eat and explore Mexican tastes and have a fantastic lunch or dinner!

This is a beautiful restaurant in the Hotel Nizuc. The food quality and presentations were so well done. I had the sea bass and my wife had the lobster. The flavors we're exceptional. The service was top notch. They were on top of everything. It is on the expensive side but well worth the Memories!

Mexican fine dining at it's best
This is truly an exceptional and very unique restaurant serving authentic fine Mexican dining with a French twist. It is the most upscale restaurant within the Nizuc hotel. The service is exceptional. You have to be somewhat adventurous, but it definitely pays off. I would certainly return!

Amazing from the moment we entered!
From the moment we arrived at Nizuc, to the moment we left, our experience was over the top! Our group of 6 ladies visited the resort to have dinner at Ramona. The ambience, design and staff could not have been more amazing. The experience continued throughout dinner and extended until our departure. The food was simply amazing! I started with the ceviche trio, and had the Chilean sea bass for my entree. The sea bass had such an amazing blend of flavors that literally melted in my mouth! We were celebrating a special occasion, so our guest of honor was given a delectably rich chocolate cake! We all shared this dessert, which paired beautifully with out red wine. Throughout our meal, we were treated to the lovely live music of a talented duo. Even though they were seated right near our table, the music was not overpowering and added a special touch to the ambience of the restaurant. I highly recommend Ramona for an unforgettable evening in Cancun! Even with several bottles of wine and starters for everyone, our bill was reasonably priced at $115 per person (even after we added in a generous tip). Well worth the experience we had!

 Absolute Heaven
First, before you head out, make sure your taxi driver knows where it is. Bring along the phone number so he can call them for directions if need be. But we got there, and oh are we glad we did. Christine's heirloom tomatoes were the best we've ever had. Then snapper with mashed plantains and lentils. Then a pastry with nuts, rum soaked raisins, cream, and sweet coffee ice cream. For me, pickled artichoke with candied fig jam jam and a streak of chili powder. Then seared suckling pig with caramelized onions and chocolate sauce. Then churros, each with a different filling. And several different amuse-bouche along the way. Oh my, what a meal. And the hotel where the Ramona is located is simply gorgeous. The staff and the service were superb. Do not go if you're not capable of appreciating excellent food, inventively and lovingly prepared. We have eaten all over the world, and this is among the best food we've ever had. With a glass of wine each, the bill came to $160, and worth every penny.

 Delicious meal in beautiful setting
My husband and I had a thoroughly enjoyable dinner at Ramona last week. We stayed at a different resort, but enjoyed the peek into the "Bond-like" hotel. Most unusual and beautiful. We both enjoyed fresh seafood and delicious desserts. The service was impeccable and the waiter made excellent suggestions. We look forward to dining here again.

 Exceptional Food and Service
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner at Ramona in the Nizuc Resort and Spa. The food was delicious (I had a suckling pig chef's special and my wife had a short rib in a Mexican traditional stew) and the service was excellent. We also found the restaurant to be very reasonably priced (we spent less than $200US for pre- and post-dinner drinks, 2x2 course meals and a bottle of wine). The restaurant and surrounding facilities were very beautiful.

 World class restaurant in Cancun
This has to now be the best restaurant in the Cancun area. The hotel/restaurant itself is beautiful. A great place for a romantic or special occasion meal, or an any occasion meal if you are a food person and want something really exceptional. Talk about modern Mexican !!The chef has a perfect touch with local flavors and ingredients- a fois gras stuffed tamal, rock shrimp 'meatballs', a drink of mexacito and tamarind. So many flavors and spices but all of them with a subtle touch. It isn't a cheap meal but it is well worth the expense to have a really world class restaurant in cancan. I have never written a review before but felt I had to this time because this restaurant needs to thrive. It takes a bit of effort to get there but you won't regret it. Highly, highly recommended,

 Modern Mexican
This restaurant at NIZUC is not only beautiful but also serves an amazing and contemporary interpretation of traditional Mexican cuisine. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating and both are great. Service is superb and they also have great cocktails and a very nice wine list.

An excellent, fine restaurant a short distance from Cancun
Located in the Hotel Nizuc, along Blvd. Kukulcan, this is a spectacular place and a culinary delight. The hotel Nizuc is hidden in a woody area, a good distance from the Kukulcan Blvd., so it is very quiet. Arriving at night, the main lobby is enclosed behind huge wooden gates that open slowly to disclose this very modern and spectacular architectural creation. Very high ceilings, open spaces and beautiful views are accented by torches strategically pl;aced to illuminate the gardens. Reflecting pools sparkle and on a clear night the moon and stars add to the dramatic decoration. The restaurant is similarly a gift to the eyes. Open, spacious, with high ceilings and beautifully decorated, it is cozy and attractive. Service is friendly, polite, experienced and skilled. Chef Bladimir Garcia is a promising young star and his creations are well worth the visit. From classical Mexican dishes, he creates sophisticated fusion delights, unexpected from the descriptions in the menu. The ceviche Ramona is outstanding, even in a land where ceviche is common. The Aguachile de caracol (Seasnail cocktail) is wonderful, fresh and with the right amount of spices to make it exciting. The Crema de Chile was a smooth and delicious pepper cream soup and the Atun y Chaya was a great take on fresh, seared tune. The Venison filet was delicate, tender and juicy while the Pork ribs were surprisingly delicate and light The Chilean sea bass was perfect: done to the right point, it was neither under nor overcooked. Chef Garcia's use of condiments and spices is great: enough to give interest to the dish, without overwhelming the basic ingredients. We had a wonderful experience with a couple of bottles of Mariatinto, a Mexican blend of 5 varietals. It is truly a delightful red, with nothing to envy from many wines from California, France or Italy. Desserts were light and delicious, although additional sophistication would help.Bladimir Garcia knows his business. We will return to enjoy his creations.

Best ceviches I have ever had. Ordered the triple ceviche (lobster, shrimp, and octopus), each with its own powerful yet refreshing flavors. Taste of heaven. Also recommend the pork or chicken which was cooked for over 36 hours. Delicious!

We had the pleasure of visiting Ramona with a group of 12 for dinner. The service was excellent. Waiters were cordial, attentive and very helpful in explaining the creative menu. The food itself was outstanding. Of particular note was a selection of 3 ceviches with lobster, shrimp and calamari in 3 unique sauces. Main courses were blends of traditional Mexican flavors with a wide variety of fish featured. Even turkey was represented and served in a wonderful mole. Overall, a great experience.

This is an amazing restaurant. We were looking for a special restaurant as it was our friend's 73rd birthday. Not only was the food outstanding, but the whole meal was an experience. The waitstaff was attentive, thoughtful and very competent. I cannot recommend it enough. It is a bit pricy, so be prepared. It's not the type of place you'd want to take kids as the meal is not a quick one and kids could get impatient. We had a table by the window that looked out to the ocean. The restaurant is in Nizuc, a very elite and contemporary hotel at the end of the hotel zone on the way to the airport..

Few menu options unless you are really adventurous
So, there was a dish made with worm sauce. I thought for sure that was a latin word I'd never heard until the waiter explained it's made from the worms you see in tequila bottles. I consider myself pretty open regarding gourmet/unique dining, but there was little on the menu I was interested in. My husband got tempura fried lobster, that was just ok. My fish was quite good and the breads were wonderful.

We had dinner here the first day after we arrived in the hotel. This is the most formal of all restaurants in the hotel, with an international menu - e.g. not specific Mexican. The food is good and the wines are fantastic (good wines in all price categories).

 Birthday dinner
The chef sent out many samples of unique tasting plates for us to get a feel of the range of his talents. We were not disappointed. My husband had the pork chop and I had the rock shrimp balls. The cocktail menu and wine last were impressive, unfortunately we were both sick. The ambiance is extremely romantic-- even with a family near us-- due to the soft acoustic guitar and female singer. The decor is soft and unassuming, yet elegant. We loved our experience here and hope to be back again when we're not sick to fully enjoy the menu! The squash blossoms were unreal!

With the exception of dessert and a couple of other items...very, very good!
For our first night a Nizuc resort we decided on Ramonas. The service was impeccable, the decor was pleasing, and with the exception of the desserts and a couple of other choices the food was very, very good. The highlights of our meal were the EK margaritas (I don't even like margaritas and I have to say this could one of the finest cocktails I have ever enjoyed), the trio of ceviches, and the sea bass--all were amazing. The items that were not fantastic, but still okay were the shrimp sopes, the lobster (it was overcooked and prepared way to sweetly with vanilla and orange) and the churro and cheese desserts. We will go back just avoiding the mediocre items as the other choices were perfect 10's.

 New Not So Great Chef
We dined here last year and it was simply fantastic, and we were looking forward to coming back to Cancun so we could eat here again. Such a disappointment. The restaurant is tucked away at the end of the peninsula at a resort where rooms start at $670US a night. It's gorgeous there. But now, just so sadly ordinary. Fried breaded flounder at $30? Tough lobster at $45? The only dish we had was a tuna and watermelon appetizer that was nicely presented and very tasty. Otherwise, don't go. Dinner for two with one glass of wine each with tip came to $160US.
